  • Could this go to court?

I'm interested in this one. I just read a story about a woman who is pregnant because her mother admitted to switching her birth control pills with placebos and poking holes in her condoms. The mother's reasoning is that 'she wanted to become a grandmother before she dies.' I wonder if you can sue for that sort of thing, depending of you have to pay for abortion, birth, child care, etc. I've heard of people suing their own family members before. I suppose you would have to prove that you always used protection, etc; if the mother hadn't admitted I suppose the woman would have chalked it up to a freak accident. Then there's the harm to the woman's well-being; what if she has a condition and should not get pregnant due to her health? What if doing this caused her to be exposed to STDS?

O_O What the hell. Yeah, I'm sure the daughter could sue. If anything for emontional damages of what her mother did.

Could pay for abortion. Or, if the woman keeps the child, (Due to religious, personal, or whatever reasons), I can bet that she will never let her mother see it. She becomes a grandmother of a child she'll never see. Two really, her own daughter and the grandchild.

You can sue your own family members. I'm not exactly sure what she would sue under, a lawyer could advise better about what kind of case it would be and what kind of damages if any can be received. I'd say to never see that woman again outside of a court room is a good first step, not legally but emotionally.
How was I supposed to know someone was slipping you Birth Control in the food I've been making for you lately?
