So I went in for surgery on Sept 30th. Woke up in a world of pain, but the surgeon said that everything went very well. While he had me cut open, he also played with all my organs and said they looked fine (couldn't help but feel kind of invaded at this). I hobbled and shuffled around the hospital for a few days, then they sent me home. Finally, after a couple of weeks I was getting around without hurting. In fact, I was pain-free for the first time in over a year, since my unexpected bursting of my intestine in June 08.
Long story short, I went back to work the last week of October. I'm on light duty, so it's been just sitting in a cellhouse control room (which is where my Sgt usually puts me anyway, since I can pay attention to both sides of the house at once and she knows I won't hesitate to shoot if the need arises). Not a lot has really happened as far as funny/bizarre stories, at least, not to me personally. I had a fairly sizable list of stories to post prior to surgery, but I lost it and can't remember them all.
Anyway, I'm feeling a lot better. I finally feel like me again, which is good. The pain following my first surgery that plagued me every moment of every day took me to a very dark place, and I really hated who I was during that time.
It's good to be back.
