  • Kitten..

The last thing we need is another pet for me to take care of.

    Someone didn't tell my wife.

Tomorrow at 3:30 our new Siamese kitten is arriving at the airport.

We already have 3 cats, 4 chickens, and 5 (big) dogs! (Not counting countless anoles (how the hell do you spell that??), geckos, and curly-tailed lizards all over).

Aren't Siamese cats expensive to buy? She's having it shipped? Sounds like she planned this--not like she found a stray that she couldn't bear to part with.

... Good luck... Siamese are extremely smart...but they are also stubborn and VERY vocal... I think they ranked #1 for vocal cats world wide. *shudders* I can't do noisy cats. But they are SUPER cute ^_^ Want pictures!

This will be our third Siamese - we had Pyewaket who die of renal kidney failure then we got Dharma (who is still with us) and now this one.

We used to have my sister's Siamese Samantha. She wasn't high strung like some Siamese, but she was vocal. I was once asked by a caller, hearing her meowing in the background, whether I had sheep.

I love Siamese...I am almost certain Riley is part Siamese (looks it, 'cept all black, he's dog-like, follows me, and does not shut up ) I *almost* want to give him the breed DNA test offered at PetCo, ha

                  Congrats on the new kitty!

Of course the airline neglected to call us to let us know that the kitten is STILL IN ATLANTA - she's supposed to be arriving now.

BTW - don't these freight people realize animals are important cargo?

The same company - we had a dog flying in from the Caymans (for rescue). They didn't get her on the flight YET no one called ANYONE about it - she was in her crate in the cargo warehouse.

They would have left her there all weekend if we hadn't constantly called them to find out her status.

That was fun. We were halfway there when we were told that she missed the flight because the previous one was late so we turned aorund and went home.

Just as we walk in, they called us to let us know that the cat had arrived. WTH??

Well, back to the airport, we picked her up, stopped at PetSmart for supplies, then set her up in her little cat-carrier / home thingamajig.

I found a 1wk old kitten with no litter and no mama. I took her home to raise her to a good age so she could get adopted from the local shelter. I didn't ask the bf for permission to do that, so when I got home, I was like: "Don't be mad, but there is this kitty, and it's only temporary" He looks at the kitten, looks at me, looks at kitten, smiles like a new dad seeing his baby for the first time and tells me that we're keeping her. That's the last time I rescue an animal... I can't afford to keep them all. We have 2 fairly big dogs too.
So, I know how you feel.
