I'd move it I got rich, too, but that's because my neighborhood is kind of creepy...

As for the 1.5 m, I agree with Jester, that could get me a decent place if you know what you're doing and depending where you are.

I don't know about YOU, but if *I* got that kind of money, yeah, I could definitely move. Hell, I know what I need to move back to Phoenix, and it is a fraction of that.

As for buying a house, that really depends on where you buy it. Here in Key West, that would take most or all (or more) of that 1.5M. Back in Phoenix, not as much. In many other places, even less. Especially in this economy, which is so completely a buyer's market when it comes to houses.

Someone hands me even 5% of that, I could not only move back to Phoenix, I could do a LOT of traveling.
All true. I've forgotten about the housing market, but I know that home in Texas can get pretty pricey in some areas. To tell the truth I would love to have 1,500,000 dollars. I would spend it rather quickly but I would still love it. I wouldn't go around boasting "I'm rich!" though. Again unless you're a really wise spender (which a lot of people aren't), that money can go pretty quickly if you're not careful.

Personally I wouldn't mind taking a few months vacation around the country/world.

I'd like to think that I would do what my ex-fiance did when she sold her flat in London....put half of it away, and have fun with the other half. She spent the other half traveling the world, which is how she met a friend of mine in Honduras, and then through that friend, me in Key West. After all, there are a few places I would love to visit. But that, of course, is for another thread.

hmmm the hubs and I are going to be moving to Phoenix within the next 5 years-apparently it's the place to go.......(he grew up in Holbrook and Snowflake)
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes

Holbrook and Snowflake are nowhere near Phoenix....but since no one really lives in either one, I can understand why he might prefer to live in the Phoenix metro area.

And yes, it is the place to be. I just hope you like heat, especially in the summertime.

I received this type of scam in the mail! And it came all the way from England! ANd I live in TX. though 1.5 mil will buy a nice house here in Houston. Probably in New Braunfels (unless everyone is moving out to there). Maybe even Austin.

Don't teach me a lesson; all I learn is that you are an asshole.
