  • Recycling...?

My apartment complex has trash dumpsters and recycling bins scattered about the complex. The recycling bins were large trash cans and each trash area had one for newspapers, one for other paper, and a couple for glass/plastic/cans. There was also a separate dumpster for corrugated cardboard (just one for the whole complex). A couple weeks ago they replaced the separate recycling bins with a second dumpster for all recyclables...glass, plastic bottles, cans, paper (news- and office), cardboard...all go in the same dumpster together.

Just wondering if anyone else has this setup.

Not heard of that......my apartment complex doesn't even have recycling bins. (or at least, they aren't marked as such)

My apartment had the separate garbage-can setup for recycling. The condo I just bought (converted from apartments) has just the single "everything recyclable goes in here" setup. Much faster to recycle without sorting everything.

        I'm not complaining

I just never saw it set up like that before. I wonder how they sort it all at the recycling facility. Seems like it would be more trouble to sort paper from food containers (since no doubt plenty of them don't get rinsed out very well, so the paper and cardboard will end up with food and drink leftovers on it.)
