  • This is going to sound weird

It's been over a week since my beloved grandmother passed and two nights ago I had the nicest dream about her.

I was in her house, dressed in my school uniform, so about 15,16 years old, she was cooking her savory mince to go into her famous cottage pies which were my favourite. She was talking to me but had her back to me the entire time, but she sounded and looked so healthy and I could smell that mince cooking(sooo good)

A friend of mine said she was saying goodbye, she had her back to me because she was leaving and the reason I was 16 in the dream was because that was when I remember her being how she used to be and the most comfortable.

It feels good, and I woke up happy, I'm glad she's ok.
I am but a tiny, barren, insignificant rock caught in the glorious orbit of your shining sun. Gravekeeper.

    That's good.

Some dreams are not dreams. They are Something Else. In this case, a gift, and a message. Never forget this.

I'm sorry about your grandmother, but I am glad this gives you some peace. It was meant to.

I'm so sorry about your grandmother. The dream does sound as if she was saying goodbye.

I remeber the exact day my grandmother died...infact I know the exact time she died...

because the night it happened she came to me in a dream, just smiled her smile, said "thank you for everything..." and then I woke up...like wide awake...heart pounding, and drenched in sweat. I remember looking at the time then....4:52am.

went back to sleep since it was a school day/night, and remember the next morning mom and dad getting the call saying grandma had died in her sleep finally (she had been sick with cancer)....at exactly 4:52am
It is by snark alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the juice of the coffee bean that thoughts acquire 'tude, the lips acquire mouthiness, the glares become a warning.

Not weird at all. It does sound like a happy goodbye. I hope some peace and closure comes to you. Its not easy to lose a loved one.

I'm glad you can be at peace with this. People leave Earth, but not your heart. I'm glad for you that you had a relationship with her.

I remember a few months after my dad passed in 2004, I swore I smelled the cardigan sweater he frequently wore, with a hint of tobacco smoke. He hadn't smoked since I was 8, but the smell was like when I was little and would sit in his lap.

I teared up when I read that. I had never thought of it that way, but I completely agree with you on it.
