  • So, today sucked...

I don't know what it was, but hey, I'll just blame the weather, that dropped 20 degrees overnight and got frackin' cold!

Woke up this morning to go to work, and managed to run out the door, forgetting to grab my packed lunch or my wallet. So I had no food and no money for food come lunch time. (bosslady took pity on me. She gave me $10 and said I can pay her back later, but that meant fast food which doesn't sit well with my tummy. )

Bus ran late (NATURALLY!), and so I had to hustle once I got off at my stop to get to work on time. Crossing the street, I hit the grassy median and <CRUNCH!>, I step in a hole deviously hidden by grass and manage to twist my foot. It hurt all day, but thankfully nothing's broken. It's just nice and swollen and throbbing like...like...like something super painful that just won't stop throbbing. Took some ibuprofen and am going to soak in a hot bath in a little while.

Get to work, it doesn't suck that much (and any stories are for another part of the forum besides). Leave work. Yup, still cold, but look! Rain added to the wind and the cold and the ick. Yay! Good thing I remembered an umbrella!

Oh...look, the umbrella broke while opening it, and bonus round! sliced my fingers. Woot.

I hobbled home and got soaked, which with the icy winds made the trip that much more fantasticals.

I want a do over on today...but I'm going to have to settle for hazelnut dolce tea, a hot bubble bath, and whining all over you poor people venting to my fellow CSers.

so, how was everyone else's day?

Aw, my day wasn't so bad in comparison...so, thanks for that...

My roommate forgot her lunch today, too, so instead of her leftover turkey dinner she had all packed up she had to eat school lunch. If that makes you feel any better...

    hope your foot feels better...

Always happy to uplift another's spirits!

Mmm...turkey. I had an Italian style vegetable and noodle soup, with a little 10 month aged grated parmesan to sprinkle on top. And a garlic roll. Thankfully, I think the insulated lunch bag kept everything all right, so I can take it to school tomorrow instead.

Hope my foot feels better, too, but it looks like the swelling has gone down a little bit. Should be better after a hot soak, which I'm off to do right now.

      thanks for the hugs. Yay!

Ehh...my day pretty well sucked, but it was suckage of the "stuff breaking" and "too much to do" category - no bodily harm involved. Except the future heavy drinking I will do when this semester is over.

To quote a truly horrible rapper, "Ice, ice, baby!"

Seriously. The hot bath will make you feel better, but when you lay in bed/on the couch/in the crawl space where you hide the bodies, ice down your foot. I recommend a plastic ziploc type baggie with ice in it. Freezer bags are good, as they are thick enough to give you some insulation from the ice, but you still get the full effect.

I have screwed up an ankle, a knee, and a toe in the last couple years, and twice I iced the problem down and rebounded quickly....and the one time I didn't, I was hobbled far longer than I should have been.

          Ice. Ice. Baby.

Yeah it did get cold quick. Thankfully I was off today and could enjoy being warm at home.

And hey I hear it might snow this Friday! Sure driving is gonna be fun, but other than that it's freaking snow! That counts for something. Hopefully it's real proper snow this time.

I don't mind the cold so much, really. It's when it's combined with wind and rain or snow that I get downright cranky! I don't want it to snow on Friday or Saturday, I have to work both days and can't hide inside where it's warm!

My family back in El Paso is freaking out because it's been snowing the last couple of days there, and it's actually sticking. Mom's been sending me pictures. She says it's purty in a "What the hell is this white stuff in mah yard!?!?" kind of way.

                I love my mom...

Foot is feeling a bit better, a bit stiff, but swelling has definitely gone down. Yippy. And off to get ready for school.

Hehe. I live in the mountains East of El Paso, and the snow here has been doing more than sticking. I had a hell of a time getting out in the morning yesterday.

                    Franklins??

No, those are along the west. But then, they're the only mountains I really know of because they're the ones I hiked and ran around in.

Yeah, got pictures of the Franklins. White. And more whiteness. Just not natural, I tell ya!

Well Lady Legira (my sis) at work yesterday, her knee went and she ended up in A&E where they gave her painkillers and sent her home. So today we potter around and do stuff gently like they told her to do and it gets worse so less than 24 hours after the accident we are back in A&E where they do it right and give her a splint, crutches and tell her "do not put weight on your knee!" But aside from that pretty good really.

It's been Monday all week. Monday I locked my keys in the car. Tuesday I overslept and was late to work. This morning I discovered that one of my tires had been slashed.

                        Sigh.

Hope the rest of your week is better, Lupo.

Hueco mountains, a few miles East of Hueco Tanks. We *still* have snow on the ground, and I'm afraid the dirt road to my house is going to be a frozen mess tomorrow morning.

                            I forgot about Hueco!!

But, like I said, grew up with the Franklins. I've been to Hueco Tanks a couple times before.

Mama says the snowing stopped, and it's turning into that icky slush. Blech.

                              Hmm.

Tuesday we (BF and I) were late for a morning appointment, we left, driving home, I barfed whilst driving. After I pulled over to finish the job, the pants got wet from me too....we had to go to a gas station so he could get some paper towels to wipe up the crud.

Still have purple barfspots in the car.
