so i just ran to the wallmart down the street to grab some stuff. i went down the i guess baking aisle. had all the mixes and stuff. there was a guy that i think was working there...he wasn't wearing blue so i dunno. admittedly i was kinda speed walking cuz i was in my "i'm not here don't look at me i don't exist" mood.
but this guy...there was a bag of that shake 'n' pour pancake batter on the ground, but i didn't see any spilled. there was one of those yellow mop buckets with a mop sticking out of it. and this dude...he had a bottle of diet coke and was just kinda...sprinkling it on the floor in a wide arc around the mop and pancake stuff.
i don't know what...he was doing. i was tempted to ask but see above regarding my mood. it baffled me. it still baffles me. i don't know what his thought process was.

...does anyone have any ideas?

Just a quick way to make a floor semi-sticky so that people don't slip on it. Movie sets do that alot for dance scenes.

but then wouldn't he have to clean it up? i mean...i'm pretty sure walmart doesn't like sticky spots in the middle of their aisles...

Mops use water. Water makes dough from pancake mix. Dough is hard to mop. Diet Coke is acidic. Diet coke will help keep the mix from becoming too sticky. Probably he'd mopped up any mix that'd spilled on the ground, and was then getting the rest up in doing so.

If it was the "shake and pour" kind that spilled, then I believe that is a pre-mixed liquid.

Oh, I dunno. I don't make pancakes...I either put frozen waffles in the toaster or go to Perkins/IHOP/First Watch.
