I wasn't sure where to put this as we were the customers and there's no suck involved.
So my wife and I go to my in-law's new place to help her mother unpack. When we get there, my mother in law decides that we should go meet her husband at the local supermarket to get some groceries. My FIL hands her the debit card, tells her a few things they need and leaves.
The three of us shop getting about $50 worth of groceries. My wife and I grab the little we got and paid for them. That done, we go over to where my MIL is checking out. She's about to pay when she realizes she forgot something. No problem! I run back grab it and come back. Cashier scans it, gives the new total and waits.
We can't find the debit card.
My MIL if looking through her pockets, through her billfold, around the machine. Nothing. We look through all the bags, our pockets, in and around the cart. Nothing. My MIL is freaking out, I'm trying to calm her down, but failing miserably. My wife and I paid for the groceries but my MIL refused to leave until she found it. We have 3 cashiers and a manager helping us look everywhere. Finally, I pull the manager to the side.
"Do you have cameras that watch these aisles? I'm worried someone took the card."
He calls LP and has them start reviewing. No sooner does he put down the phone when one of the cashiers cheers. We look and see she's opened the Take-and-Bake pizza. There was the card off to the side. My MIL was so thankful, she started crying. My wife and I thanked everyone for their help and the manager called LP to stop them from reviewing the tape.
As we left, I couldn't help it. I started cracking up. I stopped, doubled over and laughed. My wife joined in. What could I say?
