        Not a bad haul

Gift cards (REI and Trader Joes, amongst others)
        Clothes (not bad this time)
        Steel water bottle
        CROCK POT!!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!

Cats got catnip bags from "Grandma and Grandpa" (yes, the card was signed that way)

And a funny story....my dear Grandmother is losing it.....she sent both my mom and my aunt money cards.....with Santa.....picking his nose....it reads, "Got you a little green." We aren't sure whether she know what Santa was doing when she bought them

I haven't gotten much, but then, I haven't given much, so it's all good.

My mom got me the "usual" Visa gift card, which is awesome. I say "usual" because, while Mom used to be the ultimate stealth gift giver (she would listen very intently to what people said throughout the year, more than anyone realized, and than at Christmas, they would scratch their heads and wonder, "How the hell did she know I wanted/needed that?!?!"), since she has gotten older, she has resorted to giving Visa gift cards (at least to me, anyways!), and considering how awesome she is, how old she is getting (74), and how many great gifts she has gotten us, I know I am not at all upset. Hell, now we both know that what she gets me will be something I love. (Currently considering using her gift card to get the Pat Tillman ASU jersey I've been eyeing.)

My little sister got me something that took me a few minutes to figure out. They are trays to make ice shot glasses. At first I thought they were merely shot glass shaped ice cube trays, making cylindrical ice cubes (like the inside of shot glasses), but then I realized that you can actually make shot glasses out of ice! How cool is that? And she said something that is so true: she got them for someone that would use them and love them more than anyone else she knows.

Nurse Betty got me a few Arizona Lottery Powerball tickets and, in my usual tradition, I matched not a single number on any of them. She also got me something really cool: I wear, not just to bed, but around the house, those Joe Boxer pajama pants. They are very comfortable, and really cool. I have several, including Guinnes ones, card ones, beer pitcher ones, etc. She got me ASU Sun Devil pajama pants. Being a very proud Sun Devil, and the kind of guy that puts "fanatic" in "fan," I believe I can never have enough Sun Devil gear. In other words, that gift rocked!

I just talked to my best friend Neets. Her older daughter Bug (17) got her younger daughter K (5) some kind of drum toy for K to beat on and make lots of noise.

ME: "You're going to kill Bug, aren't you."
              NEETS: "Oh yeah."
              ME: "Send me pictures."
              NEETS: "Of course."

Assuming they're not too incriminating, of course.

                Back again!

Buncha books, including two I get to take back and get the new Laurell K Hamilton book I want, and a $20 gift card to Borders.

Wii Sports resort, Wii Fit Plus, wii remote charger, 101 cookie cutter set. a solar light that I've been wanting, game set for the Wii (tennis racket, baseball bat, etc.), a new robe, Dollhouse season 1, a new scarf, and I think that's it!
Awesome! I have the entire Anita Blake series. I have the first 2 of the Merry Gentry. I was never really into the Fey, but I could give it a shot. I hear Divine Misdemeanors is really good.

                  Gave:

Becks -- some gargloyles that she bought a couple months ago that have been sitting in my closet since then...but only until her real present arrives

Mr. Becks -- a $50 GC to WalMart...but Mom paid me back for half

Becks and Mr. Becks -- a TV/VCR/DVD combo

Mom -- all my dollar coins (about $150 worth that I collected in about 6 months) and a couple of $2 bills but she'll get all that next time I see her

                  Got:
                  my favorite perfume from Becks
texts from half the free world
                  I'm bringing disdain back...with a vengeance.

Oh, and your tool box called...you got out again.

                    Merry Christmas Everyone!

                    Here's my haul:

                    From hubby:
two books, one each from two different series I read (one from the Darkover series, and one form the Outlander series)
a new alarm clock with a nice BIG red display (so I can read it at night w/o my glasses but isn't too bright like blue/green ones are)
                    the latest Harry Potter DVD
a digital candy/deep fry thermometer (WOOT!)
a Magic Line brand half-sheet pan (double WOOT!)
and my "big" present, a china cabinet (yay!)
we also got a 55" LCD flat-screen TV, a blu-ray player, a universal remote, and a Garmin Nuvi, which are sort of "both of us" gifts

From my mother and father IL:
$100, a bottle of hand soap , and a bottle of Alcolol

From my SIL and niece (to both of us):
a bright neon orange soft-sided insulated picnic basket which I cannot honestly ever picture us using, plus it's fugly.

                    From DH's cousins:
a bottle of hand soap (apparently my ILs think I either wash my hands all the time, or don't wash them enough), at least this one was B&BW brand
                    a Christmas-themed throw blanket

From DH's aunt (to both of us):
a wooden artisan cheese serving board (very cool)

                    From my mom and dad:
a beautiful purple dress from Cold Water Creek (WOOT!)
the 2009 Hallmark Father Christmas ornament (I collect these)
                    three sewing books (how-to)
4 non-fic books that I've been wanting to read
a framed print of my grandparents on their wedding day that my mom had had made from the 50+ year old original
                    chocolate Trivia Pursuit

                    From my sis:
a framed print of her 4 boys
a picture that she painted herself
                    some random food

From my aunt and uncle (to both of us):
a box full of gourmet foods and spices (neato!)

                    From my cousins:
                    a moss-green pashmina/scarf/shawl
                    two candles

                    From my grandmother:
a gold and emerald (real) cross pendant and chain (I cannot wear gold, sadly, but since it is one of her pieces and thus an hierloom, it is very touching)

                    Hubby's haul:

                    from me:
3 stand-up DVDs (Dana Carvey, Ricky Gervais, and Craig Ferguson)

a bottle of bacon BBQ sauce from William Sonoma
peppermint sticks (the good ones from Cracker Barrel )
                    Gun safe/cabinet

                    from his mom and dad:
$100 and 2 bottles of Alcolol

                    from my mom and dad:
the complete Weeves and Jooster on DVD
                    a Waring Pro bar blender
                    3 few sci-fi novels

                    from my sis:
some random food including hubby's favorite: chips and salsa

We had a VERY good Christmas this year!

Hope everyone had a great holiday!

ETA: Annnnnd, hubby's very generous Christmas bonus is G, O, N, E, gone!

I got a new iPod (16 gig nano)...the smaller wheel is gonna take some getting used to. Also, the camera lens is on the back, at the bottom...right where your finger sits if you are using the wheel...not that I really plan on using the camera much.

                      computer bag
some holiday decorations to hang on the door (my mom made them - Halloween, Christmas, and 4th of July)
Three scratch off lottery tickets that won absolutely nothing

My mom also got us each a copy of Eat This, Not That...I think she's trying to tell us something...

                      Some other random stuff...

This year was kind of lean, with D being out of work, but we managed to get each other something nice:

                            Gave the Wife:

New slippers (she's been complaining about not having some)
                            New Robe
T-Shirt of a gothic-looking fairy that reads "Don't piss off this fairy"

All the above needs to be taken back and exchanged for different sizes Apparently, I suck at figuring out which size to get stuff (although the t-shirt I knew was going to be big. It was either that, or too small).

                            I received from the Wife:

Framed photo of a bird (some type of predator, but I'm not certain exactly which)
                            Framed drawing of another bird.
A copy of The Gathering Storm (the 12th book in the Wheel of time series) so I no longer have to juggle the library's copies one week at a time...

I also received from my sister and brother-in-law a small bottle of Saki imported from Japan. Can't wait to crack that open and heat it up.

We also received a bottle of home-made mead from a friend of ours. He said it shouldn't be opened before March though It'll be a long few months...

Or they are like my family.

My parents use the stockings to give basic things that someone might need, but aren't necessarily "WOOT!" type presents. Stuff like batteries, socks, Tic Tacs, hand soap, etc. Your basic necessities, depending on who you are (for me maybe beer coozies, etc.), but stuff that is not all that impressive. Little stuff.

                              Like hand soap.

The major present for our household was a new TV; we needed it and the one we wanted was on sale last week, so we split the cost and I get to set it up when I get home.

                                My haul:
                                Pajamas
Metal tiffin set with carry bag and bamboo utensils (my cousin passed on a tip to bring it to restaurants, so if we have leftovers we can pack it in there rather than the styrofoam)
                                New Dresden Files graphic novel
$100 for the proton pack build fund
$25 B&N gift card...no stores within a reasonable distance though
                                Pocket-sized hard drive
Spirit Tracks and Bowser's Inside Story for DS
                                Super Mario for Wii
Ghostbusters for X360 (really unexpected awesomeness from a cousin's fiance)
Ghostbusters on Blu-Ray (we don't have a BR player...someone needs to design one deck that can handle both types of discs)
                                Doctor Who seasons 1-4
Tangerine Dream Legend soundtrack...it's a burned disc, but all I care about is that I actually have a copy now
                                Labyrinth and Dark Crystal DVDs

...and when my mom went down to RI to close out my late grandfather's safe deposit box, she finds a buttload of coins as well as two $1000 savings bonds (one for each of us). That was a nice Christmas find; mom didn't think there was anything in there and was going to just abandon the box. We don't know if the coins are worth anything, but she's said that I can keep whatever $ I manage to get for them.
