The Doctor sent K-9 to her in K-9 and Company (1981). It was the first spin off from Doctor Who.
Okay. But how? How could The Doctor send K-9 to SJS if K-9 had previously left The Doctor with Romana? Was there more than one K-9? Did K-9 return to The Doctor? Did The Doctor go back in time with the TARDIS to retrieve his dog? Or, more likely, did the producers of the spinoff simply, or perhaps even conveniently and/or intentionally forget this particular plot point?

In the old series, there were many trips back to Gallifrey.
So when, within the series canon, was the Time War? From what I have seen on the show and gathered from y'all on here, it was some time between the end of the original series and the return of the new series with the Ninth Doctor. But as always, I reserve the right to be completely, horribly, and even embarrassingly wrong.

The doctor left K9 with Leela on Gallifrey. He promptly unveiled K9 mark II in the TARDIS. That K9 left with Romana. The K9 that he sent to Sarah Jane was mark III.

The Time Wars were between the two series. Unless I missed something in one of the eps, End of Time gave the most info on the Time Wars.

Anyone else think the Lord President was an arrogant douche? And wonder how such a blowhard came to be in charge of the Time Lords?
That was Rassilon! He was the guy who discovered time travel, regeneration and all kinds of things. He's the lynchpin of Gallifreyan history! He probably considers himself a demigod, especially after having played James Bond.

So basically, in his spare time between traveling time and space and saving planets, galaxies, universes, and the Time itself, The Doctor likes tinkering with robotic canines?

Which, let's be honest, wasn't all that much.

First of all, I have to ask....was Rassilon featured in earlier DW's? Because from what I have seen of the new series, he was never mentioned. Not once. Sure, The Doctor didn't talk about the Time Lords or Gallifrey all that much, but still.

And if he was such a pioneer with the Time Lords, why was he such a douchebag?

Secondly, I have to admit....I did not even recognize Timothy Dalton! Man, has he gotten old! And I have to say, had he had that much animation when he played Bond, maybe he would not have been compared so often to a tree stump.

Regarding The End of Time, I watched both parts after reading reactions from UK viewers and was expecting the very worst (I love spoilers...) It wasn't as great as it could have been, but wasn't nearly as bad as I was bracing myself for.

I totally fast forwarded through the bit in the snow after he saw Rose, 'cause by then I was just ready for him to die already. Which is sad. I am looking forward to seeing what comes next.

It's a fun show. I was happy as hell that we only had to wait one day after the original airing, for these last two specials. My youngest son was very confused when we were watching it on the big tv and not my laptop. He wanted to know if they were on the computer anymore. I know, pointless information there. It was just nice to be able to watch it from a legit source so soon after the initial airing. I have zero willpower, so if it had been too long I'd have just watched it online as I did everything else. And hope that they keep up with that when the next series begins.

Gah, I just babble and make lots of pointless posts.

Which I think is a bad idea. How can you possibly improve on "Blink," arguably the best (at the very least ONE of the best) DW episode ever?
I don't know man. I hope they don't try, but if they must I hope it's good. Doubt they'll be able to top Blink though.

From what I understand about Mickey/Martha they got married off screen. Tom and her broke up.. she was his rebound guy from the Doctor.

What pissed me off more than anything in his visit of companions past was he saves Martha, Mickey & Luke and all he gives Jack is Alonso's name.. HONESTLY!!!

After everything Jack is back to being the whore of the universe. And I will admit I cried watching it. I loved David Tennant I think he was fantastic and Matt Smith has some mondo shoes to fill.

On another purely selfish note I got this for Christmas and it's AWESOME>

In canon, the Time Wars began when Gallifrey sent The Doctor (4th Doctor) back to destroy the Daleks at the their creation add the Daleks acted on this via more time travel and so on and so on.

Rassilon was the first Lord President but he was in a sort of hibernation state as seen in "The Five Doctors." He was said to be ready to rise and lead the Time Lords should he be needed which obviously he has done.

                      Some thoughts....
This was news to me as well, and in fact, it took me a moment to realize it was Mickey. Martha looked a bit different as well.
Martha's hair was different. I guess she's not able to have her hair relaxed when she spends all of her time in war zones.

I didn't recognize Mickey right away either. Actually, it took my fiance pointing that out for me to notice.

For a while yes, apparently. Then again, I've always imagined a certain amount of "down time" happens between episodes.

Rassilon has come into play a few times throughout past DW episodes. There have been a few that revolved around him. If I recall correctly, he's been an ass in each one.

The one I remember most was where (*highlight for spoiler of OLD episode*) The Doctor and others break into his tomb, the reward of which is suppose to be eternal life. The "winner" was trapped as a faceplate on his casket forever...

Anyway, yea, he's been around, and pretty much always been a megalomaniac. From the Doctor's dialog indicates that HE was responsible for the Time Lords being trapped because they were planning on bringing an end to the entire universe and becoming ancients ala Stargate.
