  • So I threw my lower back out...

...and it hurts like hell. You won't believe how I did it, either. I was just leaning over my futon, picking up some junk mail that needed to be shredded and suddenly it felt like my lower back caved in.

    Joy!

Now I need make sure the ice trays are filled and find my heating pad.

Oh, and if anyone has had this happen and knows of some ways to get some relief, I'd appreciate it.

I question my sanity every day. Sometimes it answers.

After years of back pain, A mallet to the head is always a good soloution, means you get a good nights sleep.

Reminds me of how my back went in school when it first did, I was sitting on a stool and i straightened my back by about 2-3 degrees and then KERPLUNK, it went and has been ever since, and been getting worse, then again mine was cause of 15 years of having one leg shorter than the other. Hope you're fine though and that it's only temporary for you.

I had lower back pain for a couple of years. The remedy for me? Getting my gall bladder removed. I haven't had back pain in a year now, aside from the occasional ache when it's that time of the month or if I sit on the floor too long or something.

But that doesn't seem to be the problem for you, so I'd recommend a chiropractor. Before I knew I had gall stones, I saw my chiropractor pretty regularly and he did help my back pain. He also found out that my pelvis was "tipped" in one direction, so even though my legs were the same length, when I was laid out flat (or standing up straight) one foot would rest about an inch higher than the other. He straightened that out and I was able to walk straighter because of it, which helped.

I'm going through it right now. Well, it's a strained muscle on the lower right side. I was at the restaurant tonight, mopping. Not good for my slight scoliosis. My treatment is ibuprofen for anti-inflammatory and painkilling purposes, an ice pack (also for taking down the inflammation), and melatonin to help me sleep.

Once I was kind of turned to one side, reaching down into the far corner of my closet for a pair of shoes when I sneezed and threw my back out.

Please see a doctor. Get it checked out, least a few years down the road you regret you haven't. I did something, and now my hip is fucked up, and I'm on so much pain killers just to walk. It felt like my lower back, then suddenly flared to my right leg. Have I done something back then, I might have prevented something.

I've thrown out my back once....

It was carrying my massage table down THREE stairs...that happened to be covered in ice. The table itself was tall enough to be just under my rib cage, and weighed roughly 35 pounds.

..............course the falling down of 87 stairs over the course of 4 years doesn't help the condtion either >.>
