Yesterday was my birthday. Went to pick up my mother last night from the bar (as Fridays are her night's out) and had to take her to the ER. No, the ER visit was not related to the alcohol. XD We sat in the hall for like two hours and my mom was all, "Happy Birthday and sorry you have to spend it in the ER with me." When she tried to leave, I told her that this is her birthday present to me--she is going to stay until they say she is okay. So she agreed to do it as a present. (Yeah that sounds strange...)
I went home around 4:30 AM today and she is still there.
She is experiencing chest pain, shortness of breath, shoulder pain, her side hurts--basically, pain pain pain. She couldn't shut my car door or buckle herself so I made the decision then to take her. I even asked if she wanted to go all the way out to the Naval hospital but she said for me to take her to the closest one so I knew she was in tons of pain because she never goes to civilian hospitals.
I hope it's nothing bad. She really wants to go to the Naval hospital but I don't know if we could transport her or not. She is a stubborn woman and has been rude to some of the nurses that come in. I know it's because she is in pain, but I'm going to make it a point to send the staff a card or letter thanking them for dealing with her (but they have been able to handle her quite well. Mom gave the attitude to one nurse and the nurse dished it right back, LOL). My mother can be the WORST patient.
