  • ugh my skin

so last week i bought one of those new loreal go clean cleansers. i thought maybe it would help my skin a little.

im very white, but my nose it always red. and it drives me nuts. and concealer just dries and flakes my skin

so i used it a few nights and it felt pretty good. i felt clean. but then i noticed my skin was getting really dry, there was like a red ring around my mouth. red-ness went away and it was like a freakin dry patch. and then my skin broke out, sorta. (it can be linked to pms, but wtf dry skin)

i stopped using the cleanser. and the only lotion i have is store brand aveeno. just to keep it slightly moisturized

my nose it still red. bahhhh!

i just want clear skin, and my nose not making me look like freakin rudolph.

oh and flaking skin all over your face is NOT attractive

try moisturizing with extra virgin olive oil? Its the only thing that's helped the dry flaky skin between my eyes. o.o

^that... although I use olive oil for dry hair too
Or I use Bio-Oil at night before bed.. its good for dry skin & claims to fade scars & blemishes. A bottle lasts a very long time & can be used in the bath too.
Failing that, I usually squeeze a bit extra hand cream on my hand & give my face a quick going over as well as my hands
      Arp happens!

Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.

well the aveeno has worked ok. enough to keep the flakes away for most of my shift. bio oil isnt really that cheap.

maybe i should apply more aveeno before bed tonite, cuz when i wake up its the worst haha

        doesnt help that its winter

right now its 13 degrees but with the wind feels like 5 below yayyy :P

I have oily, red complexion always. What helps is a scrub every morning with fine granules. I haven't found a replacement, but I stocked up on St. Ives microderm scrub. If anyone knows of similar product, please post. I add yellow mica powder to my moisturizer & powder to tone down red, but my skintone is actually a very pale yellow.

Redness is a sign of irritation and or driness, which the new cleanser aggravated. It is apparently too harsh for your skin.

For the dry skin get Cetaphil cream.
For the red skin get Eucarin Redness Relief night cream.
Also, green tea is an excellent thing for calming red or inflamed skin.
Instead of harsh cleansers, use either Cetaphil or Eucarin cleansers.
Before going out into the wind or cold, rub cocoa butter on your skin.

            HTH!

if your looking for a concealer and/or moisturizer to help cover up and heal, and you have the time/money to do so, head over to a makeup store. sephora's my fav. i have really sensitive skin that tends to break out if i put any make up on. i went there and talked to one of the gals. she spent the better part of an hour talking with me about different products that work *wonders* for my skin. maybe there's a store near you?
