This has been a red fucking letter day, boy howdy.
Just got bad news about my grandma from my mom. She's had a bad week at the nursing home (My grandma, not my mom). Earlier this week she broke out in a rash, which has been confirmed to be shingles, and the medication they gave her for it upset her stomach.
Then she was put down for her afternoon nap one day (she sleeps just about all the time anyway), and she must've gotten up by herself, fell, and busted her leg. Very badly. This is the second time she's broken a leg in a fall.
So now she needs surgery, and at her age (91), complications such as pneumonia are quite likely. Even if she didn't have the surgery, all she could do is lie in bed anyway, and the complications would still be likely.
She has congestive heart failure and her kidneys are only 30% functional. She doesn't remember much of anything anymore. IMO, she's very near the end.
If there's a merciful god, He/She will let my grandma die in her sleep, just like my grandpa. I don't like imagining either of them living like this.

You're in my thoughts and prayers, for what it's worth.

You and your family are in my thoughts, Irv.
