Why my neighbour is an idiot

Here's the most recent example of why this woman drives me batshit crazy:

Today, she decides she's going to wash her car.

There is an automatic car wash less than three minutes away from our home that charges $5 a wash.

But does she use that car wash? NO. She does it herself in our parking lot.

She dumps at least three full buckets of water over her vehicle. The water gathers in several large puddles beside and underneath my car.

Did I mention that it was -10 degrees today?

Not surprisingly, a process familiar to schoolchildren but apparently unknown to my neighbour now occurs: The water freezes.

My car is now parked on top a solid sheet of ice.

My husband's parking space is also an ice rink. I have to call him and give him a head's up so he doesn't kill himself when he comes home.

I'm normally an easy-going person, but this woman is sitting on my last nerve. This is just the straw that broke the camel's back.

Seriously, is this her first day experiencing Canadian winters?

Common sense would tell you all that water is going to form a sheet of ice.

Maybe you can be comforted when her doors and windows all freeze up and she can't get into her car.

That, too. Actually, we just got a really wet, melty snow that did a pretty good job of cleaning off some of the grime, at least from the windows.

I actually wash my car far more frequently in the winter than in the summer. It's important to get all the road salt off the sides and underbody to prevent corrosion.

But I make sure to use an automated car wash, because it sends you through a dryer before you leave.

Perhaps next week my neighbour will pull a hair dryer out of her house attached to an extension cord. Then she'll use it standing in that damned pool of water.

That's why the MG gets a cold shower if I take it out on the 'nice' winter days. Even though there might not be any salt about, if any salt water gets under there...it'll turn the car to rust in short order. I don't know about the rest of you, but I really don't want to cut out rust again... But, if I do spray off that car's underside, it goes straight into the garage.

winters make cars around here look ugly. dirt and salt is dried on the cars. i went to an automatic car wash the other day, made my car look nice and clean (the inside is a diff. story....i'll clean that once its warm out again and i can brave being outdoors)

the windshield...eww. you can use all the fluid you want but you still get that nasty buildup by the edge near the driver bleghhh

Same here. I use one of those DIY bays where you feed a couple bucks worth of quarters to run it another 5 minutes.
