  • Blizzard of 2010 Pics

So it was either cabin fever or go outside and shovel the walk, and snap some pics.

I have no idea how much has actually fallen since yesterday, the wind is causing some ridiculous drifts, and with the 30" that fell on Saturday, there's no way to know.

TV is reporting anywhere from 8-15" depending on the area.

This is what I just shoveled. You see how my walk is already getting covered again?

    My front yard

    Half my back yard

The other half, including my patio table.

    I hate it all...

We're buried too. I cant stand it anymore. Thankfully I live practically across the street from my job, so I can still get there. But I dont own snow boots!! Lol.

I didn't have to go to work today, so I'm not complaining...yet...not looking forward to clearing off my car. Haven't ventured out to see what my parking lot looks like...

          That sucks.

My work was open today but I didn't go in. My boss said the roads by him weren't too bad, so he was going in but probably wouldn't stay too long. He lives a lot closer than I do, and the road in front of me was looking pretty iffy at 6:30 this morning, and that's a pretty high-traffic road. The road I spend the most time on on my way to work would almost definitely be worse.

I checked my work email online and there was a message from HR that they were closing at 4.

And here I'm groussing about the 6-8" we're dealing with here in Kentucky. Yesterday I shoveled my driveway and two of my neighbors' drives, so this morning my back was not happy. But I got home early enough and I didn't want them coming home from a long day at work and have to shovel in the dark. The kids in my neighborhood are bums. School's been out the past two days (dang super's going soft) and have they shoveled any walks? Noooooooo......

              Shes a nurse right?

Theyre requiring all staff that drive to the hospital I work for to SLEEP there, in the old ICU. Talk about creepy!! I can happily (albeit freezingly) skip down the street and go back home.

I think we got a total of 18 inches on top of the 2.5 feet we got the other day..and the wind is a BITCH!!

Hope your wife racks up the overtime.

Here's some pictures from my family. You don't need to register or anything. The first bunch are from the weekend, and the last bunch are from today.

Please don't stalk my family now.

Yeah, at a long term care facility. They had enough staff for 3-11 (she works 7-3) so she and the other day shift girls have been hanging out all night. She set up a mattress in her office (others are sleeping on couches, and they've got mattresses in the dining rooms)

WOW! I live in a condo so I haven't really been able to see actual yard accumulation. That's insane.

I was helping my boyfriend shovel his car today...we're a "1 and 1/2" car family, as I call it, since I park on the street outside the complex (they're really strict about extra parking) and we just use his car. We also had to shovel chunks of ice that had formed under the snow since everything has been freezing overnight. I'll have to post my own pics soon.

I'm sorry about your wife being stuck

I was at the gym this morning and CNN was saying in CT, only emergency vehicles were allowed on the roads.

                        True?

Don't know about CT, but here in MD they banned all cars but emergency vehicles for a few hours yesterday afternoon, and in PA they actually closed the highways. (Not sure how that would work though) but on the news they were saying "Don't bother heading north, you'll get to the PA line and they'll make you turn around"

nope not here. maybe DC? the local news here showed that many roads havent been even reached yet by plows.

we didnt get hit very hard and roads are clear here.
