mk, so this semester I'm a research assistant for one of my profs. Well, she pulled me off the project I was working on on Tuesday, and asked me to start another one, which I agreed to, since it supposedly just involved google image search... Stupid me!!
The project is as follows: I'm to search for headshot images of women between the ages of 20 & 30 online, no celebrities, and place them in folders titled attractive and unattractive, for a research experiment concerning first impressions and judgments based on looks. Now, I've managed to find lots of headshots. My problem is classifying them, as I think the ones i managed to find are all attractive. However, I was raised never to judge someone by looks, so I don't really know how to classify women as unattractive, and when I run a google search for something generic like plain looking women, or unattractive women, I get some....colorful and frightening sites. My google fu has failed me!!
I emailed my prof the pics I had as of last night, asking for input on which category I needed to work on, but have yet to receive a response! My deadline to have all the images in is midnight CST tomorrow because the first wave of experimental surveys is slated to start in New York on Monday, supposedly.
So, my question is thus, can any of my fellow CSers help me find headshots of women who are supposedly "plain looking" or "unattractive" (I hate those words!!) They must be headshots, or head and shoulders, good quality, decent size, AND the women must be smiling, as we don't want to bias the subjects with frowning faces, as that is instinctively thought to be less attractive than smiling.
ETA: Barring that, is there anyway someone would be willing to fileshare with me in the next few hours, so i can show the images i have and help me rate them accordingly...?
I've been working on this for days, and I'm getting a bit frustrated. Grr.
HEEEEEEEELLLLPPP!!!
