  • Good thoughts for Panda :(

So Pandora the ferret got stepped on earlier tonight. She was under one of our running rugs and The Beau didn't see her. Luckily he didn't put all his weight down before he realized there was something under the rug and moved.

She started acting very lethargic and had two potty accidents which is unlike her since she is usually very good about the box, one of which was on my bed; then proceeded to try and puke... never a good sign for a ferret.

We took her to the 24 hr Pet emergency clinic as soon as she started acting lethargic. They said she should be okay, but she has some bruising around her lower spine and we will have to keep a very close eye on her just in case she hurt her kidneys... since they are in that exact same area.

She is on some good pain meds from the vet right now, so is hard-core crashed out in the 'sick' box.

Please keep her in your thoughts. The vet thinks she will be fine.... but you never know how these things will turn out. I'll keep you updated regardless.

    Thanks,
    Red

      Awww....poor little thing.

Hope he's on the mend soon.
Too tired of living and too tired to end it. What a conundrum.

          Update

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.

As of this morning Panda is doing quite well. we gave her the pain meds and lots of cuddles and love. Her back is still very tender when we touch it, so we have had to be very careful when holding her.

She got her own little cage, with a big fluffy towel to curl up in... she feels so special cause I don't normally share my fluffy towels with critters ^_^ and she is being ridiculously cute curled up in it peeking at us.

She wants to come out and play, but doesn't quite have the energy to run around for long yet. Which is fine, she needs to rest and recover to get back to her normal slinky self.

              Picture Update

The cage we have her in is not very photo friendly... but I managed to get a few cute ones I thought I'd share. I tried to get some with her curled up on top of the towel being brain meltingly cute, but the flash always woke her up.

She is a bit glassy eyed and drowsy from the pain meds... but damn if she isn't cute.
