I can't give too many details, because it isn't my issue to really get involved in. But my 25 y/o niece, who has always suffered from bi-polar disorder and personality swings, flew off the handle yesterday when she was in California visiting her second child's father. From what I heard it sounds like she had a complete mental break down. She got taken into police custody this morning when my sister(not her mother) whom she was staying with, called the fire department to have her taken to the hospital and she tried to punch one of the fire fighters.
From the sound of things she may have to go in for a 5150 psych eval. And might lose her children, which means her mom(knowing her as well as I do) is probably going to try and adopt the two little guys. Which while I think that is fine, this is the same sister who has been having lots and lots of medical problems lately.
It's just a big mess. I'm going to bake some cookies and go see her mother here in a bit.
Just asking for prayers or good thoughts for my big sister and her daughter... and the two little boys caught in the middle of it all.
Thanks guys,
Red

Sending good thoughts and prayers your way. It's very heartbreaking when you or a loved one suffers from mental illness. I pray that your neice will get the help she needs.
