We have a rule on CS against using the site to sell stuff, so please don't discuss that. I was going to close the thread, but I'll leave it open as long as the discussion is only about help with Ebay.

it's just that i no longer read them...they're collecting dust. i'd rather they go to a good home where they'll be properly appreciated.

      i have:
      Bleach 1-5
      Ranma 1/2 1-6
      Deathnote 1-8
      Hellsing 1-3
      Chibi Vampire 1 and 2
      the Kingdom Hearts box set
KH chain of memories 1 and 2

and they're all in pretty damned close to perfect condition. no cracked spines, no folded pages, no stains, ect...

Ebay is pretty good at walking you through step by step on listings. They do charge a fee for listings, Im unsure if its a percentage or set rate, but its a pretty small one.

Also look @ half.com. They sell a lot of books movies etc and are affiliated with eBay.

ETA: Also check out the Amazon.com marketplace.

Oooh, may I suggest going through one of the book sites to sell? Or perhaps a manga site?

^^^What she said. Ebay is a complete, screw-the-seller mess and not worth my time or yours. You'd stand a decent chance of dealing with some PITA claiming your items weren't quite as described or trying to pull something else, and Ebay would side with them almost automatically.

Honestly? I'd try a local craigslist, maybe. Simply because selling manga on ebay very rarely works. I know. I've tried. Amazon may be a better bet as well, if you're looking to go national, as it were. But ebay and manga, not so much, just from personal experience.

One big problem with eBay now (and why I use Craigslist only) is that if you aren't an "established" seller (and I have no idea how many sales you have to make to become one) you can only accept Paypal, and that means unless you can get people to do a bank account transfer you're going to have to accept credit cards, and Paypal charges you for that.

And last time I looked into it (which was a while ago) that was a regular monthly charge, not a one time fee. Maybe you can cancel it when you're not selling, I had no desire to get into it so I stopped using eBay.

                  To the OP:

Have you considered selling on Amazon? IMHO, Ebay is heavily biased towards buyers, and on Craigslist you're just as likely to get scammed.

I've used half.com to sell a lot of books, and I've had no complaints. It's pretty easy to get started and the fees are pretty reasonable.

When I used to sell on ebay, Paypal just took a small cut of each payment I received. That must've changed then.

Maybe, the last time I sold something I told the guy to pay me with a money order (back when you could do that) but he kept trying to give me a credit card payment. Paypal was going to take a small cut, but for me to transfer the funds to my bank account it said I needed one of their "premium" services.
