Well, for those of you who have been following some of my recent threads here and in Life Advice, you know that my husband and I have been looking for a house.
We got one!
We are under contract now, had the inspection done last weekend, and are scheduled to close on my birthday, April 5. What a great birthday present! The house is wonderful. 2400 sq ft, 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, built in 1991 and in EXCELLENT condition for its age and location. Our inspector was blown away with how well the house has been maintained. The only "big" problems with it, is that there are a few holes in the soffit -- part of the roof that overhangs past the outer wall of the building. We have already contacted some contractors and it shouldn't be too hard or expensive to get them fixed. Luckily, it doesn't appear that anything is living in the attic, which we were afraid of, so if we can get the holes patched, we should be good to go.
The timing is perfect, too. We're just in time to get the $8000 tax credit back this year, and our lease on our apart is up at the end of April, so we'll about a month to get packed and moved out of our apartment and into the house after we close. It's going to be so nice to have more room. I make jewelry, and I have SO MUCH STUFF right now and no room for it all. I have boxes of both supplies and finished pieces stacked up all over the living room of our apartment rather haphazardly because I don't have room for them. I'm going to take one of the secondary bedrooms for storage for my stuff in the house, which will make it much easier to organize.
So exciting!

Once we officially own the house, I'll take some pics and post them, in a couple of weeks. I am both looking forward to and dreading the move. I just keep telling myself that we have almost a month to move, so there's no huge rush. I can do a little packing and cleaning each day so hopefully it won't be too stressful.
But, here is a great website for jewelry makers:
Maggie!
