  • Reservations at The Melting Pot!

So, my birthday is coming up soon and my husband is taking me out to The Melting Pot! It's a fondue restaurant. I can't remember the last time I had fondue (my family used to do fondue pots for New Year's Eve when I was really little, but probably haven't for 18-20 years now) and I've never been to a Melting Pot before, but I've heard great things about it from various friends of ours.

Has anyone been before? What did you think? What do you recommend?

I LOVE the Melting Pot. The Spinach Artichoke cheese dip is AMAZING. And so is the S'more chocolate fondue. Yum!

I'm so envious!! There's a Melting Pot right around the corner from my house, but none of my friends will ever go with me!

Mmmmm Melting Pot is delicious. My only suggestion is to save room for dessert!

My sister took me for the first time last time I was home during Spring Break. It was pretty interesting. I'm not a big fan of cheese so the appetizer part was ok. The entree was awesome though. I loved the beer batter mix with steak and chicken. The dessert was orgasmic! Just remember, do NOT grab the metal and ALWAYS grab the plastic at the end. Metal heats fast and hurts when you touch it

We tend to go there for my birthday also!! LOVE it. I always like to try their new and slightly unusual (to me) salads... had an excellent one with duck and walnuts a while ago! You pretty much can't go wrong with anything there! If you're planning on doing the 'big night out' salad, cheese, main and dessert then I would check on restaurant.com for a g/c. They usually have a couple gift cards on there and that's what I tend to get, because the big night out is fairly expensive (I think its about $28 per person) and you can get a $25 g/c for just $2-$10 (I think they are doing an 80% sale right now)

ETA: I was rather LOW on my $$ estimate.. Just looked online and its more like $40-50 per person. But it is sooooooooooo good! Also you should sign up for their club fondue and if you have enough time before you go you might get an email coupon to use!

A group that I'm a member of likes to go there every year as a big part of their yearly meet, as well as the original 4 members' birthdays. They love it!

Greenday's right--safety first. The burn ward is a sucky place to spend your birthday.

Listen to trailerparkmedic on this one. Desserts there are typically goodies for you to dip in chocolate--as it's for your birthday, they might do something even more special.

My mom, sister and I love to go and get cheese, salads (miss the mushroom salad! ) and chocolate - the dark chocolate w/amaretto. Yum. It's been a long time since we've been there though.

I've been once. I had the Mexican-style cheese fondue, which was yummy, and the Bailey's chocolate fondue (yummmmmy!) for dessert. I had chicken for the entree; I wasn't crazy about that part. I prefer my dinner to come already cooked.

I'd definitely go back for the cheese course and dessert, though.

Oh, and I was with a group of 13 people...the bill was over $700. If you go with a group, make sure everyone knows what kind of bill they're looking at, because a few members of our group were not expecting it!

Haven't been in about 7 or 8 years at least. I paid really close attention when they made the cheese fondue (my fav) and now I can make it at home.
