  • How to get vomit out of a stuffed animal?

Our cat threw up this morning. Not too unusual, but he just had to spew all over a stuffed animal my husband got for me for Valentine's Day. My husband cleaned it up as well as he can, but there are still some spots that wouldn't come out easily. Can anyone recommend a good cleaner for something like this?

Some stuffed toys can be machine washed...depends on what's in 'em and what might be attached to them.

How about microfiber? I just finished reading this thread, looked over at my cat, and saw that he had thrown up on my ottoman.

It's spring for the upper hemisphere, so cats (and dogs) are going to be shedding a lot.

That will lead to furballs and that will lead to vomiting. Usually foamy.

Take the time to brush out your critters' fur to pull out the shed stuff and help avoid getting pet yak all over your furniture, floor, and toys.

I hope this doesn't jinx me by saying this (since I will be cat-sitting in a few weeks) but I've never seen my cats have furballs (which is surprising considering how much the girl sheds). The one time I thought she did (also while cat-sitting), it turned out to be a half-dead baby mouse...

I've had cats forever and ever, and never seen one actually cough up a furball, somehow.

But our old queen has started coughing up the foamy stuff, and it's absolutely related to the increased warm temperatures. We try to keep her brushed, but she's got on incredibly thick coat to her.

... I like to bury my face in her fur, sometimes, it's so soft and plushy.

Casey gets brushed on a daily basis. We started brushing him as a kitten, so it's fun for him. He'll even lay on his back & let me brush his belly - a necessity since he's a nice long-haired Himalayan. He's also on hairball food, and gets hairball remedy Pounce as a treat.

The boy'll let you vacuum him.

That's an awesome mental image! Vacuuming the cat!

When my daughter puked all over her favorite kitty (weird, hu?) I ended up putting it inside a pillowcase, tying the top of said case in a really tight knot, and throwing him in the washing machine. As long as the pillowcase stays closed, his fur won't get matted, and will stay as soft as the day you bought it. I kept it on in the dryer too, just in case.

                          Nope, just Casey, the baby-dork.
