  • Your signature; tell us about it!

I'm making a new thread cuz I searched the forum, and the only signature thread I could find was locked.

My signature at the moment is taken from Street Fighter 4 and is one of Vega's victory quotes. I picked it cuz it seemed very poetic, and anyway, Vega's my favourite character.

Incidentally, my title is also a Vega victory quote, but from an earlier game.

Tell me about yours! ^^ Some people have very interesting signatures and I'd love to hear the stories behind them.
People who don't like cats were probably mice in an earlier life.

A friend of mine had just reached level 80 in WoW and started running heroics (note: You get your best gear by doing heroics) using the Random Dungeon finder. She gets hooked in with these asshats that have been running heroics for some time and as such, their gear is amazing. They start berating her for her low (for them) damage, so much so she gets upset and leaves. Now, she HATES running heroics. She relayed this all to me one day and I said the text that became my signature.
I have a...thing. Wanna see it?

I saw the original (and cruder) message on a t-shirt in a mail-order catalog...JohnsonSmith, I think. Nevertheless, I expurgated the message; however slightly.
I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

I got tired of people saying "But you're a woman, you can't do that!" or "I don't want to talk to you, you're just a woman, you can't know anything about that!" I saw the quote that is now my signature, and I now use it in a lot of places.

My current sig is a quote from Douglas Adams' "The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe", slightly altered due to the "maximum lenght" rule.
A theory states that if anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for, it will be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

Another theory states that this has already happened.

Part one: A saying I've used so long I don't think I could ever change it. It's either first or second in the sig.

Part two: Currently a link to a good song.

Mine are rather old...might consider changing them soon. However, they're both quotes from NCIS, which was my favorite show until this season. The combination of WTF-ness and the fact that I've been so crazy busy has meant that I haven't watched many recent episodes.
"Even arms dealers need groceries." ~ Ziva David, NCIS

Tony: "Everyone's counting on you, just do what you do best."
                Abby: "Dance?" ~ NCIS

Mine"s so old I don't remember the context, but it came from this site (the "did the Titanic sink" one, since being reminded of my signature's existence I feel the need to change it.)

The new one will probably be a quote from "The Magician's Nephew" once I find my copy to be sure it's right.

Probably the most accurate saying that I've ever heard. I forgot where I first heard it.

People who you think are complete idiots do have their moments where they show you their intelligence.

On the other side, there are those people who think they know all and can make no mistake. Don't believe it for a second, folks, they show their stupidity in more ways than one. My personal favorite is the condescending CEO not knowing how to work my kiosk when it clearly said, "Press Screen to Begin."

My first one is pretty self-explanatory - a quote from The Colbert Report from October 2007 (it was after his little opening bit, just before he says "This is The Colbert Report!"). I love it.

The second one I put up around New Years; I don't remember where I found it. I think it was posted on a comments board somewhere (possibly a Slate.com article). There are some things in my life I need to work on changing and it struck a chord with me. I made it my sig so I would see it daily.

(Before that I had part of a George Carlin quote: "Life is a series of dogs." Someday I will have another dog.)
