  • Fondue Pots?

So, my husband and I went to The Melting Pot for dinner last night. It was FABULOUS! Everything and more than I was expecting. Of course, now I want to figure out how to do it all at home, especially since we're moving into a bigger kitchen very soon!

Does anyone have any recommendations for fondue pots? I don't know if this exists, but I would really like to find a fondue pot that has a removable insert (like most crock pots have) and that I can get multiple inserts for, so I can make 2 or 3 different kinds of fondue with only one pot without having to wash it between each course. Otherwise, I guess I'll just have to eventually invest in 2 or 3 separate pots.

I have 2 different fondue pots. One is electric one uses the can of gel fuel.

The electric one is awesome! It has a non-stick interior and a temperature regulation control on the side. It heats up quickly, maintains heat really well, and cleans like a dream.

The other one sucks and we don't ever use it.

We also have a mini crockpot. It's perfect for chocolate fondue.

We usually end up doing the cheese fondue in the actual fondue pot. Use our fry-daddy for the "main course" (although, many times, the cheese fondue IS our main course, lol). And then the mini crockpot for dessert.

    HTH!
    Don't wanna; not gonna.

Target has a couple different ones they say 3 in 1 but really it's 2. Although It wouldn't be very hard to find a really simple inexpensive one for the chocolate.
Or you could just try and find another ceramic pot that would fit and then you'd really have your 3 in 1. I would recommend asking older relatives that got married about 35 years ago or so, fondue pots were a really popular gift back then, my mom has 2 or 3 one of which is stainless steel and has never been used (I plan on confiscating that in the near future)

Sometimes you can also find Chcolate fountains for slightly cheaper than fondue pots. I have a really large one that is great for parties or to loan for things like receptions.

I also got a dessert station once and it just uses a tea light you have to melt the chocolate first (like a bag of chips to 1/4 cup oil) and then just remember to stir it every so often and it works fine.
It's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care. -Office space

My grandparents had a really excellent fondue set that we used to use when I was really little. Unfortunately, they gave it to my aunt, who never uses it and probably either lost it or let her 20-some animals damage it.

The suggestion to use a mini crock pot for the chocolate fondue is great! We actually have a little crock pot that would probably work great for that. I'll check at Target too for the 3 in 1 models. Thanks!

If you have a TJ Maxx/Marshalls/Home Goods, check there too. When I worked there, we usually had fondue pots or the cute little forks to go with them.
