Hi guys. 
Saturday, New Mexico Tech had a LAN party. But not just any LAN party. A Charity LAN party. Once a year we have our attendees pay a $5 entrance fee and sell raffle tickets to win a big prize. This year, the proceeds went to Child's Play. Our big prize was an Xbox 360.
I'm very happy to report that we did a hell of a lot better this year than last year, and still did a hell of a lot better than we were expecting; we raised $1,030!
I was talking about it to a coworker today and a regular guest overheard and donated $5 to the cause. Supposedly, we're still accepting donations until Tuesday (huzzah!). Even the grand prize winner is wanting to donate an additional $50 to the charity once the banks open up on Monday morning.
I just wanted to share the great news, gloat a little bit and be proud of our little group of geeks.
