Why I Hate Teenagers.

This happened last week. I just heard it from my coworkers.

One of my coworkers was traveling home after work and had just stepped off the train and was one her way out of the train station.

A couple of teenage girls sprayed her in the eyes with bear spray then continued on their way.

This was not provoked. They didn't even have the decency to steal her bag or anything. They just wanted to cause pain. She wasn't able to see properly for about a week.
She didn't know who they were or why she was targeted.

All drawing further proof to my suggestion that the majority of teenagers these days are a bunch of sociopaths.

This is why I hate the fact that my store sells bear spray. I have so many customers ask for it only to find out they intend to use it to spray dogs as they run/bicycle. I have to explain that our bear spray does not come out as a stream, it basically goes everywhere when sprayed and that it can possibly kill small animals. The really sad thing is that some people have the attitude of "So what? That's not my problem."

Did she get a good look at them before she was sprayed? Maybe there was a reason, but knowing people these days probably not. What did bystanders do if anything??

No. It happened so quickly she was only able to see that they were female and young, no distinguishable features. No bystanders close enough either.

It's apparently happened in the area before. Gangs of teenage girls randomly attacking other girls with bear spray.

Just stepped off the train? Shouldn't there have been some video coverage, then?

I'm not sure how CCTV-happy you guys are up there, but around here there are cameras on practically every door.

What happened to your co-worker is terrible, and I'm glad she's going to be okay.

But threads started for the express purpose of spreading hatred about a certain group of people are not permitted at CS. We have more than a few teenagers who are members here, and we want everyone of any age to feel welcome.

I think that SansDoute was quite upset about what happened to his/her co-worker when they posted this, and understandably. When cooler heads prevail, it will become obvious that not all teenagers are sociopaths.

This might be a good thread for Fratching, if the OP or anyone else is interested.
