  • And so it begins

I have new neighbors next door. They're having a cookout and THEY KEEP SLAMMING THE DOOR. Ordinarily I wouldn't care, but I generally get 5 hours sleep Saturday nights and I need a nap. Thunderstorms threaten at the moment & I am about to do a rain dance. This is the one reason to not like summer.

I hate door slamming with a passion.

One of my neighbors feels this absolute need to let the entire complex know that he's home. He has to slam his truck door, stomp up the stairs, and slam his door shut, every single afternoon.

Ha, blas, I KNEW you'd be the first/only to respond! It's like we have the same neighbors, but in different cities. Other than the Sunday craziness, they seem quiet. I just needed to rant 'cause I was exhausted and not amused.

I hate door slammers...luckily the tenants at this place are pretty quiet. Our last place though our apartment was right next to the back door and for whatever reason everyone felt compelled to slam the damn thing, so all day.... all night... whenever some one came in our out you just heard "BAM" pissed me off so much.

I lived in an apartment like that, too. It was enclosed, with heavy doors. This one has doors open to the courtyard. It's just this kid next door. This afteenoon it's been every 2 minutes. I can't take a whole summer of this.

These buildings are quite old and very poorly built...to the extent that you can hear your neighbor's toilets flush.

So yes, you hear every time someone shuts their door any harder than politely.

The best thing of all is when psycho shut-in next door comes home from work during the week is when I'm asleep and every afternoon in the middle of my sleep I get to hear him slam his truck door, stomp up the stairs, and SLAM that door.

Bonus points in the winter because then I get to hear him viciously kick the snow off of his feet.

I don't like summer time at my apartment complex. When I first moved here most people worked. Now it seems like this place is full of single moms with 10 kids (no offense to single moms with kids because I am one) that let their kids run wild outside.

When it rains I am so happy because all the little brats are inside.

I had a neighbor upstairs once that was loud. He slammed the door or people would pound on his door. He did not work and it seemed like his wife did most of the time.

Last summer a family member took their kids for the day and when they were dropping the kids off the neighbors were not answering their door. The family member and kids were banging and banging on the door for over an hour and yelling outside for them to open the door. Both of their cars were there but for whatever reason they would not answer the door. Probably passed out drunk or something.

This is one of my pet peeves. When people bang on the door multiple times expecting someone to answer, even if they have to knock for like an hour. Obviously the person you're trying to see either doesn't want to see you, or is simply not home.

This also counts for people who honk their horns in the midde of traffic, call cell phones 3 times per minute unti the other person finally picks up, or people that walk around either their homes or work places yelling someones name. Like right now, coworker is yelling other coworkers name because a phone is ringing. Or my family members who will scream a name through floors of house just to get another family member.
Sucky Customers- Have the ability to convert non-drinkers into raging alcoholics in one phone call or less.

Pretty much the only time the door to my apartment is slammed is when the windows are open.

A vacuum is created and sometimes I don't grab the door quick enough.
