  • Maiking first aid kits outta tins

Like Altoids tins, or whatever you have

I mentioned this on an older thread, but thought I'd bring it up again because I am bored.

I made a mini first aid kit out of an old time I had, and am currently working on another (by working, I mean eating a few mints a day) My older kit has: bandages, allergy med, iburprphen, tylenol, tumsm cough drops, honey drops (for energry, and safety pins. Poor tin is ready to burst!

Anyway, I'm thinking of making a few of these, one fore each bag...heehee. It's rather fun. Who else makes these?

(I also carry various other things I might need if I find myself in the woods....I'm pack rat that way)

I have friends who save those boxes for me. I've made some arty stuff out of them, but a little first aid kit is a great idea!

I do. All my medical kits (including my BIG one that has my surgical supplies) has both cloth and vinyl bandages, saline, peroxide, needle and thread, neosporin, painkillers, alcohol prep pads, and super-glue. My BIG kit is the only one that has the scalpels, syringes, blood glucose meter, stethoscope, and lots of gauze included.

Paranoid? Me? Nooooooooo. Why, yes, I AM also in the market for one of those really BIG ambulances. Why ever do you ask?

Have you, by chance, ever watched "Royal Pain" on the USA channel? You remind me of one of the lovely characters on it.

Yup. Didn't miss a single episode of Royal Pains when it was on last Summer and am totally STOKED that I get to watch it for another Summer (I'm on the road again that week, but I should roll into Hospitality Way in time to catch the first episode of the new season).

I've kept these kits up for a few years now, though (ever since it was decided that I couldn't hack being a doctor....or coroner....or phlebotomist).

I have a mini first aid kit around somewhere that's in a film canister. Altoids tin would be less likely to pop open though
