  • Can't Sleep

The usual ending for this is clowns will eat me right?

    Nope.

Right now its 'Can't sleep, a giant/heavy asteroid will hit the moon knock into a closer orbit, cause tides to rise, volcanoes to blow, and cause an apocalypse'.

In the last 3 weeks i have read Life as We Knew It, The Dead and The Gone and This World We Live In.

I now must fight the hoarders urge to stock piles mountains of food.

    thought i would share.

What good would stockpiling food do, anyway? Either you'll turn out not to need it, or it will be ruined by the time you do (or by the incident that causes you to need it), or you won't be home when it happens, or your neighbors who didn't have their own stockpile will take it, or....

Well, just remember the Far Side cartoon. "How many times did I tell you to put a can opener in here? 'Not much good without a can opener,' I said."

Some things you just can't plan for. I assume that if the earth is hit by an asteroid, it will land on me and I won't be here to deal with it
Now the trouble about trying to make yourself stupider than you really are is that you very often succeed.

Me, tonight it's "can't Sleep. Nazi Zombies will get me."

(I just finished watching "Ded Sno" and it's great! Definately watch it if you can!)

Well A it would be canned goods and B because in the books there is a lot of near starvation and starvation.

Also, my version of "stockpiling" food involves eating it slowly, but making sure that I always have a lot of it. There's no point in having food around that you don't eat, because you aren't going to want to eat it in an emergency. So our supplies of canned salmon, for example, are constantly going in and out, it's just how much of them we keep that is high.

MRE's are good to supplement canned goods. Especially since one meal can last you half the day. You can get them at military supply stores.

Look up "Mainstay" survival food. A small carton will last a person for as long as a month, it's not exceptionally expensive, and it can be stored for over ten years.

I can't fault you for wanting to keep some emergency supplies around; it doesn't require an asteroid to cause food supply problems.

                          HMM -

                          PRODUCT INFORMATION

                          Ingredients:
Enriched Flour, (Added Vitamins A, B-1, B-2, D, E, B-6, B-12, Niacin, Iron, Folic Acid, Magnesium, Pantothenic Acid, Calcium, Phosphorous), Vegetable Shortening, (Partially Hydrogenated Soybean and/or Cottonseed Oils), Granulated Sugar, Corn Starch, Corn Syrup, Natural Lemon Flavor, Artificial Butter Flavor, Artificial Vanilla Flavor, (Tartrazine, FD&C Yellow #5, FD&C Red #40), Artificial Color, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Gamma/Delta Tocopherols as a natural antioxidant.

Not good for me, corn syrup is a migraine trigger in me. At least it doesn't have tropical oils ... a bit stodgy tasting from the ingredient list.
EVE Online: 99% of the time you sit around waiting for something to happen, but that 1% of action is what hooks people like crack, you don't get interviewed by the BBC for a WoW raid.

i found an awesome 72 hour kit set up not only for the basics but for an evac with 36 MREs! i want!!!!

My brother thinks its stupid but my mom knows that it could be very much needed because we live close enough to the river that if the dam had issues we could be flooded, we live close enough to the mountains that forest fires could get us evaced, we live in an area that is just outside the blast range but int he evac range of a nucular power plant (its like 150 miles away) and we live in a freaking valley two days away from food shipments.

Oh and tornadoes can hit us because of the hot muggy augusts.

                              Yeah im paranoidish.
