Not Discworld. A separate series, and absolutely a must read, particularly if you're a Pratchett fan already.

Hearth spirits tend to like to "hide" things when you let your place get cluttered or dirty. One place I lived had them disappear an item that was on top of a chest the day I was going to use it. I looked through everything, including going into the chest. When I got back that day, it was right there, on top of the chest where I'd originally left it.

That reminds me, I can't STAND for my food to touch. Especially applesauce touching anything warm. If I could I would have all my food served in like 14 separate bowls. But Husband won't let me so I just push everything apart.
I've been reading through all these but this caught my attention....I find this hilarious because I do the same thing. I have to have food seperate cause I don't like it touching either.

I tend to be ocd about a lot of stuff. I really can't stand it when anyone in the house moves even a pen I keep in a certain place. I'm constantly fighting to have the remotes in the same place all the time so I don't have to look for them.

The second I get home I change into jammy type clothes and kick off the shoes. Socks come of if it's hot otherwise I keep them on. I hate wearing shoes in general.

I am a star trek nerd and am happiest when watching an episode of the original series. I love mr spock. He's my favorite

I love communications and am a geek. For years I have played with police scanners and cb radios. Well now I have a cell phone that can do all that same thing over the 3G network and it's free so I LOVE IT!!!

I'll think of more I'm sure!

A list of my "weird habits" huh? Okay, yeah, I'll give it a shot.

...I don't consider my habits to be weird....

          Okay, I got one!

If I have to handle something it has to be the same number of times for each hand (pick up a glass with left hand, pick up a glass with right hand). EVERYTHING HAS TO BE EVEN.

I was born left-handed but the public school system taught me to write with my right hand, ergo I write like a sociopath. Or a doctor.

I dislike people to the point I'd rather stay home than meet new people.

I know the difference between then/than/has/have/of/to/too/two, how's that for weird?

My mother went through the same thing....born left handed and FORCED to write right handed....she ended up being able to do mirror writing. My daughter is left handed and thank god she was left alone.

I guess my aunt was lucky in that she wasn't forced to be a righty. The funny thing is - my left-handed aunt taught my Dad how to tie his shoes. Then, he taught my sister and I how to tie our shoes. All of us are right handed but tie shoes like a left-handed person. It drives my mother insane.

                I forgot one.

I'm accented. BIG TIME accented. Southern drawl that slurs badly. I can't stop it, I've tried. It takes a lot to keep it to a level that's at least understandable and even then it sounds....off. I've been told I speak like an Australian (inflection and tone, I think is what EQ's ex meant) with an Austrian accent. However I am most certainly a Southerner. The accent drops from what I thought was high-class Charleston SC to Conk Island FL when I'm tired.

                And then it gets interesting.

                      Ok...I have some weird ones...

                      - I LOVE fire. Some of my favorite times at work were when somebody would order a creme brule since that meant I got to use the blow torch. I love pouring alcohol into a pan when I cooking then lighting it. The taller the flames, the better. I don't freak out when something accidentally catches fire in the kitchen. I just deal with it. I've had fires shoot higher than my head from the stove and just grinned and got it to quit. Never set off the sprinkler system.

                      - Like many others on here, everything must be even. Right foot half misses the stair, left foot must do the same in exactly the same place.

                      - I can crack almost any joint. I crack my ears because they hurt if I don't.

                      - I pick up things with my feet.

                      - I can curl all my toes except my big toe under so it looks like I lost them in a brutal accident. Freaked my dad out that way once. I used to be able to switch and tuck the big toe under by itself that far, too.

                      - I love knives. They must be really, really sharp. Knives make me happy.

                      - I like to sit sideways on the couch with my back resting against the arm rest.

                      - I don't wear socks and shoes around the house, but I tuck my feet under things, pillows, blankets, sofa cushions (see above position), or my husband's legs if he's sitting there.

                      - I'm a serious lightweight. Two drinks will make me see double, so I usually stick to just one.

                      - I hate the feeling that comes with being even remotely tipsy, but I love certain drinks so I sip them slow and make them last.

Bah, i know there's more, weirder ones but I'm drawing a blank.

I was forced to write with my right hand and if my teacher saw me using my left hand, she would come over snatch the pencil out of my hand, put in my right hand and hold my left arm behind my back. I'm now ambidextrous because of it, so maybe I should thank the old hag if she is still alive.

-I believe in the paranormal and I really don't care what people think about me because of it.

-like RetailWorkhorse I dislike people to the point I'd rather stay home than meet new people.

-I watch Spongebob when my cubs are in school.

-I'm a pessimist and that is not about to change no matter how much my grandmother nags me about it.

-I have been known to make an obscene phone caller hang up first.

-I hate having uneven numbers on anything in the house.

-I can not stand having a dirty kitchen. Anything else can wait till later, but I have to have a clean kitchen.

-My toe on my left foot next to the big toe was broken when I fell out of bed (don't ask) and it didn't heal properly, so it sticks up a bit and sticks next to the big toe in an unnatural way, so I can't pick up things off the floor with that foot anymore.

-Apparently I have a Midwest accent that gets stronger the madder I get.

-I can not stand having a dirty kitchen. Anything else can wait till later, but I have to have a clean kitchen.
-I'm like that with my bathroom, especially the tub. I love bubble baths but the tub must be cleaned first, even if it was cleaned the previous day and not used since.

-I love to clean, if we didn't need the money I would be perfectly happy cooking and cleaning all day (and it takes all day to clean if I'm cooking)

-On that note: my food always tastes better if I make a mess of the kitchen and I cannot clean as I go or else something goes terribly wrong.

-I can bake the most amazing cookies from scratch (ginger spice cookies are my specialty) but if you give me a mix they will become mutant cookies.

-My upper body gets overheated rather easily and my lower body is almost never warm so I live in tanks/halters and jeans all year round.

-In relation to ^^ I tend to forget that I'm...well...stacked and this gets me in a lot of trouble.

-I cried when my parents' old Atari died. I also fought tooth and nail to keep the SNES when my brother moved off to college and wanted to take it with him (I won). The only time I have ever seriously injured my brother was when he sold our shared Sega Genesis for beer money, I didn't know that a black eye could turn that shade of purple.

-I cosplay a lot but have only ever gone as a female once, so far Link was my favorite (although dressing as Link apparently makes me look like a very attractive teenage boy and attracted a lot of attention from underage girls)

                              -At times I'm rather pedantic.

-My progression of thoughts makes no sense to anyone other than myself and my fiancé.

-I have lost quite a few loved ones over the years, the only ones that I talk to are my dad and my cat, the only one that I have seen is my cat.

-My favorite smell in the world is a horse barn, something about the combination of the hay, leather, feed, and the animals themselves just makes everything seem right somehow.

-I hate country music, unless there are horses around, then I love it.

-Ginger and mint are my favorite flavors but never together.

-I'm only 125lbs but I can drink most sailors under the table, this both pleases and annoys me.
-When drunk I sometime supplement my speech with words from an otherwise non-existent language that can only be described as “maybe like if a dragon was trying to speak Gaelic”. I have yet to hear these words as apparently they are rather difficult to pronounce and I never do it when someone has a recording device.

-I love interacting with strangers but I’m terrified of meeting new people if they will become a regular part of my life (ex. guests are fine, new coworkers terrify me).

-I love really bad horror movies.

-I dress like I’m going to Rocky Horror when I go out to clubs, even if it isn’t a themed club.

-It makes me sad that I can’t dye my hair obnoxious colors due to work. The same is true of not being able to have a deathhawk.

-I love too many bands/singers to list but I only listen to a handful of current artists.

-I make fantastic abstract art but I couldn’t make anything more realistic than stick figures to save my life.

-I believe that moon-bathing has healing qualities and, back when I lived in the middle of nowhere, would lay naked under the full moon. I fully blame not being able to do this on any and all health problems that I now have.

-I love lightning storms, they cause something strange to happen to me and result in me dancing like an idiot while getting drenched and covered in mud.
