    Hi

I recently became a big fan of listening to podcasts while doing the mundane things around the house. I could use suggestions!

Here are couple I follow semi-regularly:

Radio Free Burrito-- Wil Wheaton --By far my fav
    Nerdist Podcast -- really funny
Smodcast- Kevin Smith-- Some are hilarious some are just stupid

    Thanks

History of Rome - Mike Duncan
It's not a dry recitation of facts, he tells a story and makes it really interesting.

I listen to the Savage Love podcast (Dan Savage). He does sex advice and it is most definitely not safe for work or young children (well, I listen on my headphones at work, but you know what I mean ). It's usually quite entertaining. It gets posted once a week on Tuesdays.

This Week in Tech (TWIT) with Leo Laporte (http://twit.tv)
        The Machine (http://originalmachine.com)
        The Mothpod (http://mothpod.com)

The last 2 are good for finding good, new indie music.

          This is giving me ideas

I used to watch video podcasts of sailor moon abridged and pokemon abridged, until the video files took up too much space.

            My recommendations:

This American Life (although I can't imagine there's a human being with an iPod who isn't already subscribing to this one)

            Hardcore History by Dan Carlin

            BBC Documentaries

And I second BSE's recommendation of Savage Love. Even if you disagree with his advice, Dan Savage will crack you up.

If you have to ask, it's probably better posted at www.fratching.com

Do you have any specific interests? I listen to a strange variety of podcasts but they're all tied into my hobbies.

CBC radio does podcasts for most of their shows. This includes Quirks and Quarks - science at a actual technical level, but you don't need a degree in the area to understand it.

I should recommend the penny arcade d&D podcasts with wil wheaton.

Also, creative screenwriting. you get a great interview and fun q&a about the making of movies.

and lastly Kotaku talk radio. weekly game developer guests and some fun stuff.

Unless you feel funny divulging your hobbies, toss out your faves, anyway.

Who knows, maybe you'll get someone else interested in something they didn't think they'd be interested in.

                      Hi guys

Thanks for all the great suggestions I'm definitely going to add most of them to my list also as a bonus I just found out that the author of Freakanomics is now doing a podcast that should be interesting

as for my hobbies/interests well-- can we say geek? lol I

love tech and gadgets ( cell phones, laptops ect) I love cartoons and anime ( just now getting back into anime after years away)

I'm a foodie and love culinary competition shows ( Top Chef FTW)

I'm also interested in writing. I love learning how writers organize their thoughts and put in down of paper.

Finally, being twisted, I love anything that NSFW or completely inappropriate

                      Thanks again

Thanks..I just subscribed to the Freakonomics podcast and downloaded all the episodes. I just read Superfreakonomics a couple months ago. Now I have something else to amuse me while I'm at work.

Next-day Edit: Listened to them all this morning before lunch. I like it. If I didn't know who I was listening to, I would think it was Morgan Spurlock in his 30 Days show. (Loved that show, too.)
