Mom looks so proud in this one

They remind me of my friend's mom's dog's puppies...they're Bassett Hound/Black Lab mixes but they had the same coloring...most were all black, a couple were black with the brown facial markings...and the last was blonde...

It's a whelping box. (That's the short answer).

Here's the not-as-short:

It's a whelping box made of corrugated plastic (like corrugated cardboard) with built in pig rails.

A whelping box is something to help the mother give birth to her puppies and also to contain the puppies from going where they shouldn't go. You can also put blankets etc.. in the bottom (like we have).

A pig rail is along the sides - that's a piece that sticks out so if the mother tries to roll over or lie down the puppies will get pushed under them so they don't get crushed.

OK, one quick question: what the heck is the purpose of a durawhelp? (I have never owned a female pet, so forgive me)

On a side note, if I decide to get a new webcam, does anyone have any suggestions? Mine is quite old (Creative Video Blaster Webcam 3 or something like that)?

This is how out of it I am now.

I had Kiri's pedigree up in one tab and her first title is SG-1 (Sieger non-titled first place rating). A few minutes later I saw the tab and thought "When was I looking up a Stargate site?"

I need to sleep some more.

i may have adopted my claire after lost started but she was not named for the lost claire.
I wanted Kerry or Gus my sister wanted something girllier it became Claire.

The expression on Kiri's face says "Oh, god, what have I gotten myself into..?"

My wife has the same expression.

I'm sure it's even worse now, with 8 of the little wrigglebutts squirming around. Draggar, silly question, will she be able to feed all of the babies, or will you guys have to formula supplement? That's going to be a challenge, especially when they get a bit older.

10 of her nipples are producing milk but we do also have formula and other supplements if needed.

We think she may be done but we're going to give her a few hours to be sure. It's too late to take her to the vet for a post-birthing checkup so that'll wait until Monday.
