  • R.I.P Al

I found out today that one of my regular customers, Al, passed away. He was in his 80s and him and his wife would come every morning for coffee. They were the nicest, sweetest, cutest older couple I had ever seen. They would talk (well, she would talk and he would listen) and even invite us to their table if we were on break or off work.

When I found out, I went into the walk-in cooler and cried. He reminded me so much of my own grandfather, quiet, but when he had something to say, it was something good. Al always smiled, treated his wife well, treated us like we were his own grandchildren, looked after his own health by walking around everywhere.

We are going to miss you Al. You're in a good place, drinking your Senior regular coffee with one cream in your special traveler's mug.
