  • Odd sudden change in diet.

Okay, see here's the thing. This is probably some sort of observational paranoia or something, but something odd is going on. All at once, a few friends of mine in totally different areas of the world have had their diets changing spontaneously, all at the same time. We're eating less, and getting full faster. We don't want to eat as much, and find ourselves wanting to eat healthier. We all started experiencing this within the past two or so weeks. We have no idea what's been causing it. None of us did anything that may have led to this. Some of us feel weaker in general, and some of us feel stronger, in general, myself among them.

I'm just trying to get a count of who also may have experienced this.

Me: "Yes. Your planet is very backwards I hope you realize."

Could be warmer weather. People often naturally eat less/lighter when the weather gets warm.

Just had my first glass of pop in over four months. It tasted...weird.

I've been eating healthier recently, as in, I'm trying to cut out eating out as much as possible, and have replaced my usual sugar laden lunch breaks at work with salad bar (a generic fresh lettuce mix, some hard boiled egg slices, a sprinkling of cheese, and catalina dressing, with a little bit of seafood salad or Tuscany chicken salad from the deli bar right next to it) along with a massive bottle of Smart Water. Along with that, I am on the Honey Nut Cheerios challenge... a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios for breakfast, and one for lunch. An ocassional snack of string cheese, or a single bit of candy. Nothing too outrageous. Trying like hell to finish off the cans of soda that I have in the pantry, so they won't be there to tempt me any longer. Only have two left.

Also, for a note, I'm doing it because I'm tired of being overweight...

That is very strange that you should say that.Yesterday I went tot he supermarket, now usually my trolley would be full of cake, chocolate, etc etc, yesterday while unloading it at the checkout I just noted to myself, "huh didn't feel like eating that stuff that".Nothing conscious, just put in it what i wanted.Loads of vegetables.

              grats =)

Now, anybody want to trade recipes? I'll start with a good breakfast idea for weekends:

              Black Bean Bake

1 16 oz can black beans, drained and washed well
              8 TBSP salsa
              4 eggs
4 tbsp grated cheese - i cheat and use the premade mexican blend from the supermarket
4 disposable foil baking cups, or 4 ramekins that are ovenproof

mix the can of beans with 4 tbsp of salsa and divide into the 4 cooking vessels. With a spoon make a small well in the beans and crack a whole egg into it, repeat for all 4 portions.

Top each egg with a tbsp of salsa and sprinkle with 1 tbsp of the grated cheese.

Bake in a 425 degree oven until the egg is cooked and the cheesy salsa is melted, about 3-7 minutes depending on how runny you like your eggs. It doesn't nuke well unless you poke a hole in the yolk so they don't explode.

Escapee beat me to it. Every time it gets warm I all but stop eating. It's too damned hot to eat and after a while I get tired of eating salads. My entire family is like this so we can tell when our grocery bill is going to drop and when it will explode (we eat a lot during the winter months).

It's the season change. I'm gravitating toward yogurt smoothies, salads, grilled veggies. But my well-meaning friends are giving me heavy/hot stuff like soup (because I'm broke right now.) All I want is fruits, veggies, salad. Even bread seems too heavy.

Me too with the weather. I don't want anything too warm or heavy lately.

It is most likely the weather, though I seem to be craving really rich foods. Not really sure why, maybe the stress of moving?

Right here. My wife and I haven't had a lot of food, so my stomach has shrunken. Now, I can only eat one and a half footlongs at Subway
I have a...thing. Wanna see it?

Well, if you cut down on the sugar, you want less of it.

So if you all cut down on crap due to the weather or whatever, and went through a spate where you didn't eat a lot of sugar and crap, you will stop craving it and it does not take long for this to happen.

Seems like the opposite should be true, but it isn't'. It is also possible that maybe companies are cutting back on high fructose corn syrup? I have avoided it for years anyways, so I don't know, but check your packaging. If that is the case, you all might be experiencing your addiction letting go of you.

Some are, I think. I find it sad when your bread feels the need to put "No high-fructose corn syrup" on the label...

I know that I've been eating less, though I've wanted spinach lately (haven't had a chance to get a spinach salad recently ) But I think that has to do with my iron being low. Been taking some supplements to help with that. Also been drinking a lot of water, though I find it funny that you bring it up, since I quit smoking about 2 1/2 weeks ago. No plan, just said I was done.
