Maybe this is my ignorance of our North Eastern States but, I thought you guys didn't get tornadoes :-/

We have gotten them and at the moment my dog is NOT happy about this weather...You know how hard it is to take a shower when the dog decides the shower is a great place to hide? It's not easy...*sigh*

i was driving into the state from MA before 3PM....

i had to pull of the highway and find a place to stop my car. the rain was that bad, visibility was horrible. i drove Route 5 south the rest of my way home and saw plenty of cloud to ground lightning and nasty lookin' skies.

i'll post pics later

It's hot, humid, cats are sleepy and it isn't that dark out. Ahhh.....New England. We some light rain, one or two rumbles, and then nothing. We are still under the watch, though

A tornado watch means conditions are those in which that tornadoes are known to form well. It may be sunny where you are, but there may be more clouds outside of your general area.

Still, I do think the NWS tends to run the watches long. But, these are tornadoes we're talking about, so it's probably a good idea.

Yeah, def better be safe than sorry.

Clouds have broken up over here...I see blue. Pity we didn't get a small storm, I'd like cooler temps tomorrow

Tornadoes are tricky little buggers. Luckily, during really bad storms back home, Dad had a tendency of dragging us to the windows or the porch to say, "Okay, you see how the sky is kinda greenish-blue? You see that long, low, dark cloud right there? That's a good sign for tornadoes." And so on. Unless I see those signs, I don't worry. Even if I do, I still don't worry too much, just keep an eye on the sky and the weather on TV, and give thanks I live in the lee of the Hill.
