I don't know why I'm always so surprised to see tornado warnings back east. I'm just so used to thinking in terms of Oklahoma, I forget other people get them too. Was on vacation a couple weeks ago, camping at the lake, and ALL WEEK LONG had rain, hail, t-storms, and tornado warnings. We actually loaded up one day and headed away from the storms cuz they were heading straight for us!

(Sorry for the thread jack, I was looking to see where you were assuming TX or ARK or something since we don't have warnings here today.)

didnt get anything here 'cept some rain, and may get another storm later

there were no tornadoes, but possible rotation and funnel clouds in litchfield county.

we had a tornado in my town last june, and the state has had them before, so i shouldnt be surprised to ever get a warning, but for it to happen in the state 3 times this week is a little much

At work, the skies went black around 450, and when I left at 5, we had a 5 min downpour. Then drizzle. Then another downpour when I was in the Merritt. Then drizzle. Then blue skies at home. Now just some "we might rain" clouds.

        Ahhh.....CT in June

And soon the jackarse that is Scott Haney [weather hominid on channel 3] will be whinging that either we are in a drought because we haven't had enough rain, or we are having way too much rain. Dude doesn't seem to understand that 3.4 inches is the AVERAGE of rain, it is not uncommon for there to be *more* or *less* rain and it is still normal and not something to panic about

He's a terrible meteorologist, but I hate to say I like watching him in the AM....something about his personality amuses me.

I like Geoff Fox....but that's just because he was really cool to my friend when she was an intern.

Brad Field....well...I have two funny stories about him!

And good ol' Dr. Mel. Still around.

Meh, if I want a forecast, I looks at NOAA and lament that I can no longer read the models

I remember growing up, this part of Wisconsin was tornado alley (well, maybe other members can chime in and say all of Wisconsin can be). I remember storms that would come out of nowhere, or the weatherpeople actually being right and there being severe storms.

I never listen anymore. I don't even get my hopes up. Every storm is a fizzle. We haven't had severe storms in two years.

Not that I enjoy tornadoes or power outages or mayhem, I just miss really good thunder and lightning.

We haven't had any real measurable rainfall here for about a month. I'm kinda wanting some rain because some of the plants in my garden are beginning to wither. We had two heavy downpours here today and the ground absorbed it like it was nothing and the ground is still relatively dry under the tree in the backyard.

We had what might be considered an EF5 tornado around here about 15 years ago. It hit a rural area but caused some impressive damage and injuries.

It stormed twice here today while I was at work and now the sun's coming out. It might get nasty later.

If I were a farmer here I'd be flipping cartwheels. Seems we get a day filled with rain followed by some sunny, nice, warm days. From I hear, the crops should be good this year.
