  • Suckiest day in a long line of sucky days....

This is a whiny thread...please feel free to ignore me as you see fit.

So, I worked overnight (Wednesday night to Thursday morning) and as my shift progressed, i just start to feel more and more like shit. Sniffling, sneezing, sore throat, sense of smell fading. So great, im being bitchslapped by a nasty cold.

I tough out my shift, go home and open the door to my house and...nothing. Ordinarily, Charli (my doggie) is sitting at the door wagging away, but today..nothing. I call out her name..nothing. I walk to the back of the house to her bed.. nothing. Very confused, i finally look out the window to the yard...to see my baby sitting there patiently waiting for someone to let her in. This means that, my husband LEFT THE DOG OUT ALLLLL NIGHT!! Without food, water, or shelter. May not be a big deal to some of you, but Charli is very much an inside dog, she is also very pretty (we get lots of compliments on her) and we live in the city. She could have easily burrowed out of the yard or been stolen. I almost cried when I left her in.

I then run upstairs, throw on the lights in my bedroom (this is @ 7am) and watch my husbands face contort from the light. Then I laid into him..bad. Probably didnt need it as badly as I gave it to him, but I was feeling like shit on top of feeling bad for the dog.

I finally get some stuff done and get ready to go to bed and find...that we have no nyquil..which i desperately needed. I find something in a childrens formula that will suffice, drink almost half the bottle and go to bed.

I wake up later, and head to Wal-Greens with the family and while Im looking over the dayquil and the zycam a song comes on the overhead radio. Now, im already sniffling, sneezing and looking basically, like a turd. But the song that came on was the ONE song they played at my favorite uncles funeral. I mean literally, they had a CD, stuck it in the player and left ONE SONG on repeat (as he requested) so this damn song comes on and I fucking just lose it. I'm bawling...with a box of tampons in one hand and some dayquil in the other, trying to keep my purse from hitting the floor (feel free to laugh at the imagery) Lol. My husband looks at me, realizes its THE song and hugs me and tried to dry my tears... my kids are looking at me like i'm crazy. People are kinda just skrirting by me in the aisles, as im sure they thought I was psycho.

Finally I get to Burger King for a double stacker. I cant taste it (due to the cold), but I imagine it tasted pretty damn good. I then come home to write a 3000 word paper that I had not started yet but is due very soon. /sigh

Im going to BED. TODAY CAN JUST SUCK IT AND TOMORROW, IM GETTING A DAMN PEDICURE!!! LEAVING ON VACATION TO FLORIDA ON MONDAY, DISNEY WORLD ON TUESDAY AND COCOA BEACH ON (NEXT) FRIDAY!!!!!

    That is all.

If you made it this far, I salute you.

I am very fond of the "going back to bed and trying again tomorrow" method. Some days, that's all you can do.

I proffer hugs and effective decongestants.

        What ArcticChicken said

for a horrible day, you can have these scummy cookies too and enjoy your vacation,, but make sure you have the cold medicine in case the darn thing lingers
        Arp happens!

Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.
