  • Laughing at the cats

So, my neighbors have two lovely orange cats which are allowed to roam, and they occasionally come under my window. Riley usually gets very excited....I am not sure if he has a crush or wants to fight...

Anyway, Orange Cat was just under my window, and both Riley and Morgan were in the window.....cryyyyying and howling at this poor kitty. The sounds they made...I had to laugh at them

Then, as I was writing this, Ri and Morg started fighting...and Ri was trapped and Morg help her ground! (usually she runs)

She finally gave up, and Orange Cat is still there, and Riley is still crying....hahha....so funny...I wish I could record these cries for you all to hear

    Cats are hilarious beings.

I laugh at mine all the time. Was giggling at the critters in fur coats who were hiding in the corner of the kitchen, escaping the heat this morning. Bellies-up with paws splayed.

Yes, I confess, I poked a belly or two. Got some good squeaks.

I poked Morgan's belly once. The blood loss was amazing

Ohhhhh. Yours don't LIKE the belly-poking, do they. Too good for that?

In this weather, my cats don't care whether or not they like something. If it disturbs them from their Lion-like Slumber, they squeak. The Mighty Squeak.

        It's rather amusing.

Tigger is a lazy cat. Occassionally, he will bat at me on my way by, in which case I HAVE to stop and play with him. Oh, and I don't know about poking his tummy (never done it, but I'll try sometime) but he will let you rub his belly, until he decides he's had enough,at which time you'd better hope you can move your hand away before he sinks his teeth in. Cats--They're crazy, but we love them!

We have three cats, and two of them make the most hilarious sounds. One of them, our oldest boy, likes to warble. If he's overly excited, he will make this long, drawn-out, multi-pitched warbling sound...he used to do it a LOT when we lived in an apartment and we had a big floor rug in the living room, which he would dive under and make his warbling noise. We always thought he was chasing ghosts.

Our kitten likes to trill. He sort of makes this half chirpy, half purry noise when he's happy and playing. We keep hoping he won't grow out of it as he gets older!

Thelma is awesome. Every time I leave and come back, she runs to me, flops on her back and demands her belly rubbed. I learned that this means the cat trusts you alot.

She is an alarm clock, wakes me and/or mom up at 5 am sharp to feed her.

She loves to play tag and hide and seek. She'll tag you, urn and hide and will keep running until you tag her, in which case you better get moving or she'll get you.

She does have a real bad habit of jumping on my hip when I'm trying to sleep. Which wakes me up in pain. She just meows and gets comfortable. I try to move her, she'll run off, and ocme back to repeat it.

She's a princess. She refuses to sit on someone's lap unless there is a blanket on it.

.... she's the closet thing I have to a child, and the one creature that loves me the most.

Maggie, your cats sound like so much FUN!

Athena (the Alpha) has a trill rather than a miauw. We call it her chirrup. Sarai squeaks, most of the time. Sometimes she has a full-throated miauw. That one is always surprising to hear.

Our new kitty (well, he's a tad over a year now) makes the funniest complaining noise when you try to get him to do something he doesn't like (e.g. getting him OUT of the dishwasher!) . It's kind of like a cross between a growl and a grumble... r-r-r-r-r. We have a VERY stubborn cat!

Yeah, my cats are not belly-cats.....Riley sees it as a call to play, and Morgan is......crazy

Plaid, is that Thelma in your avatar? She is lovely and her name suits her....she looks like a Thelma

Orange cats are the best cats (not biased ) Mine is the most melodramatic drama queen ever. Want an example? I made the mistake of trying to finish up some work at home. The nerve! So my cat decided to die of neglect.

Nope. Elderly grey and whites who get cranky in cold weather are the best.

Especially when they sit on your lap and use you as a heater.

                          1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
                          2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
                          3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
                          4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

My Tessa is a beatuiful "calico" that actually looks more like a brindle. She's mostly black with orange flecks with an orange and white patch on her belly. She chirps more than she meows and gets mad when I repeat what she says back to her. She's all about the belly rubs. She does what my fiancé calls "kamikaze belly flops" where she'll throw herself down belly up right where you're about to step. And she licks everything. Us, the comforter, the couch, everything. o_O

Your tortie sounds like my tortie. Though mine is more of a torbie.... a tortoiseshell that never fully brindled, so while her face, legs, paws and other bits look tortie, she has the tabby swirls on her sides, and the rings on her tail. She's also psychotic and will randomly attack feet and legs as they're walking past her.

Then she jumps up for headrubs and snuggles. Sarai is a lovemuffin times 100. That's her as a four month old kitten in my avatar pic.
