  • I did something today I haven't done in many years..

    I bought a music CD.

Yes, one of those little silver discs that you buy at a store that has pre-loaded music on them, usually between 8 and 15 songs by one artist (or a compilation of several).

    Vince Neil's Tattoos & Tequila.

        Is that like eight tracks?

I've been meaning to pick up several cds to replace the audio cassettes I lost ages ago.

            More like records.

              Huh.

I actually get pretty much all of my music on CDs --- it's cheaper that way because I like to get the full album. Helps avoid cherry-picking and only listening to the "instant like" stuff. Some tracks take a few listens to get into them. I also get better sound quality because I rip them my self (MP3 = lousy sound), and I don't have to worry about any DRM crap.

I've had no issues with MP3's (individual songs and full albums) that I've purchased.

Believe it or not I still listen to music on cassette tapes. A lot of those tapes date back to the 80's...lol. AND I STILL have a record player & about 200 records. A lot of music on those records has never seen the light of day on CD.
Nowadays I use my MP3 player & download music of off Amazon.com.
Been ages since I bought a CD.

IMO sometimes a record sounds better than a CD - tapes can get stretched out thus slowing the songs, records don't go though this.

If I ever move out of Florida, or a better constructed house not in the cross hairs of the hurricane highway, I would love to get a record player and start re-building my collection (but I do have a collection at my parents' house in NH - mostly classic rock).
