  • Well, that was relatively painless

I had to go swimsuit shopping today.

I haven't even needed one in years and I've gained about 40 lbs since I last bought one but we're going to vacation in St. George, Utah and the low is predicted to be 103F. We will have access to a pool and I think I will want to use it.

I actually ended up buying the first one I tried on. I'll need to do a minor alteration but it's really cute.

Where did you get it? I've been trying to find a cute suit but most of the ones that I have seen this year have really ugly patterns or really small bottoms.

I found mine at Fashion Bug. The style is the same as the picture but the color is more peacock with blues and greens and some black. There's also a buckle centered under the breasts. I went to Catherine's and Macy's but like you said, uuuugly! And they wanted $100 for them too.

That's really cute, flybye! The ones I saw at Lane Bryant were ugly and super expensive. No thank you. I need one for my trip to AR in July. My bf's apt complex has a pool, and we're going on a weekend trip to a B&B with a jacuzzi. I think I'm going to get one from a friend, but I may try to find a Fashion Bug around here, cuz that one is super cute!

            That is cute!

I don't know how their quality is these days, but Old Navy does separates, so you can put together your own combo of top an bottom fairly cheap.

Erm - Old Navy no longer offers my sizes in stores. I can still sometimes squeeze into their XXL, but not really.

I have a Miracle Suit and I love it. I couldn't find my particular style on their website, which doesn't surprise me since I've had it a couple years. But I did see some cute ones.

Old Navy doesn't make tops big enough for me, and I'm only a C cup.

I mean, I can fit in them, but it's a big risk of popping out or the dreaded under breast thing when the top rides up.

I still have my same swim suit from Vicky's from a few years back. It hasn't been worn much, I usually only wear it in the pool here and last summer when I went to the Dells.

I've put on a lot of weight since last summer, but somehow it still fits pretty decent.

I used to always get mine from Old Navy cuz you could always find at least one that was a solid or basic pattern and 2 pieces were never too pricy (I don't get why so places charge the same for a once pieces as they do for just a top or bottom of separates) and I'm not the same size on top as I am on the bottom. Sadly Old Navy tops seem to be either not adjustable so if they fit my bust then they are way too big in the band or they have really thin straps which dig into my shoulders.

Shorts and a shirt is what I use to swim.

People make fun of a guy wearing a shirt to a pool.

You could try getting a rash guard, I've seen quite a few people who wear them just for swimming, mostly at the beach, not so much pools but every now and then we get guests wearing them. As a bonus they are also quite comfortable and will protect you from the sun.

Old Navy has definitely downsized their clothes in recent years.

Land's End also has 2-piece suits and they go up to plus sizes. My only complaint with theirs is that their plain. Mostly solids; very rarely do you see prints but the styles are cute enough.
