  • Adn this is why im home doing nothing..

So, i really wanted the family to get together for the 4th - a bbq and swimming. Simple right?

So, i call my mom, tell her this and suggest a place with a nice clear, running river and grills and etc. Last year and the year before, we went to some place on the Chesapeake bay, but the water is pretty stagnant and everytime we come home my cousin ends up with a UTI and an ear infection. We decided werent going back there. So I pick the place with the river, she says shell talk to my dad.

A couple days later she calls me and tells me my dad has "decided" (not sure who made him boss man. lol) that we're to go to a state park that has a "beach"....Upon hearing the name I recognize it as being the one thats constantly closed down for E. Coli breakouts... *facepalm*

I advise against this, she says dad has already decided so whatever. She says its all nice and cleaned up now and that there hasnt been an E. Coli outbreak there since last year. I try to be amenable and i plan to go with.

Last night, Im googling for directions and come across several articles stating it was closed NOT EVEN 2 WEEKS AGO for E. Coli. /sigh. I tell my husband this and we both decide we're not going. It was too late to call my mom at this point (after midnight today), but I called at 6ish this am, and shes throwing a fit and asking me why didnt i tell her this earlier (umm, because I found out after midnight myself?)

So now, hubby went to drop off all the food we purchased for today and we'll spend the day alone...with the dog.

Far from the spectacular family 4th celebration I had planned.

Go to Blockbuster and get some good movies, then brave the crowds at the supermarket, get some good meats, veggies, and other food as well as some good rawhides.

What more do you need for a good holiday with the one(s) you love?

I'm stopping for ice cream sandwiches and going to my friend's house to hang with her family.

I'm making something approaching an omelet (it fell apart so it's more like scrambled eggs with stuff in them), watching a Monk marathon and working on the Fanfic Of Doom (tm)/trying to keep the muses from hurting each other.

It rained all day today, so I'm not going anywhere to sit on wet grass or even in a chair on soppy sloppy wet grass to watch fireworks or do anything.

Guess I'm stuck here. But it's ok, I have to be up early anyway.

I went food shopping and did errands all day and will be watching fireworks from behind a huge rollar coaster. Fun. >.>
Eh, one day I'll have something useful here. Until then, have a cookie or two.

I'm working, then tomorrow (day off) i'm ordering ribs and potato salad. Whoever is down is invited.

(it fell apart so it's more like scrambled eggs with stuff in them),
I quit trying to make omelette's a long time ago. It is now, and forever will be, "eggs with stuff in them"

I apologize in advance, but your dad is an idiot.

I stayed home most of the day (only going out and about to get something to celebrate Lizziebeff's birthday tomorrow). I was invited to go see the fireworks (I'll be able to hear them okay from here...seeing them, I'm not 100% sure, but since people are camping out all over the block...) but once again, the heat has made me sick. Literally.

We took our daughters and SOs out for brunch, got to see our grandson. Picked up my Mom from the airport and took her home.

Watching "The Empire Strikes Back" on Spike TV. Brings back memories of being so excited to see it in the theater, and of eating 'special cookies' there.

My husband, son and I went to the flea market. Husband spent a bit too much time browsing the outdoor stands. The heat really got to me, and I'm 8 months pregnant so we left, but I did get a few things.

Then he wound up getting a speeding ticket on the way home. Don't even wanna know how much that's going to be. After that we went home and I went to bed, because I had to be at work by 10:30. All the fireworks started at 10, so no fireworks for us, but I do get 8 hours of holiday pay.

My mom makes perfect omelettes; I just can't seem to make the thing stay together when I flip it over. It's all going to get broken up and eaten anyway, so if it's just me why bother trying to make it pretty?

"Eggs with stuff" sounds like something one of my muses would make. Use whatever's in the fridge and not expired and see exactly how strange the creation can get.

Last night I started my mission to watch all five seasons of Real Ghostbusters in order, and as soon as I get back from visiting the rats it will continue until mom gets home (and we have pancake batter in the fridge!).
