I worked there for 4 years, and I'm still not sure myself. That's what my coworkers called it too.

I could be wrong, but I believe it's originally taken from the National Lampoon's Vacation movie.
The family was heading to "Walley World" for their vacation.
The title just got borrowed for Wal-Mart and it stuck.

That's what they told me.

My favorite name for it is Shitmart. Warmart is good too, 'cause you know, it's like a war zone!
