Cascada's version of Truly Madly Deeply (the original group was Savage Garden)

I also found a nice version of it somewhere that has the same song being covered by Darren Hayes and Delta Goodrem (Darren's one of the members of Savage Garden anyway)

Also, Human Nature's cover version of People Get Ready rocks. The vocal ensemble I joined in my last year of high school did a version of the same song inspired by the Human Nature recording.

I just realized another few ones as my playlist on my mp3 player was going.

Ra's cover of Every Little Thing She Does is Magic, and Seen All Good People are pretty decent.

and (don't kill me for this!) Dweezil and Ahmet Zappa's cover of Britney Spears' Baby One More Time No, I'm not kidding! I think they made the song kick SO much ass. Much, much better the way they did it. The link is to an anime fanvideo using the song, as that's all I could find in my quick google of the song.

Return 2 Zero -AKA Four for a Dollar when they were preforming live at Disney World before the Beauty and the Beast stage show- does some of my favorite covers. I have their self-titled CD and love all the songs on it.

Cats in the Cradle-Ugly Kid Joe
            Last Kiss-Pearl Jam
Devil Went Down to Georgia-Steve Ouimette(for Guitar Hero 3) but the Charlie Daniel's version is equally awesome.

"Boys of Summer," as performed by the Ataris.

One of those cover songs where the cover is better than the original. Sorry Mr. Henley.

I really like Bowling For Soup's version. It's exactly how the song should have been done, it's rather dark and creepy.

BTW, Pat Monahan was in a Led Zepplin cover band before he joined Train, can ya tell? lol I couldn't find their version of Signed, Sealed, Delivered, or Stay With Me, but those are really good to. They usually do at least one cover of older music during their shows.

Elton John's cover of "I'm Your Man". And John Cale's "Hallelujah" (despite him using the verses that Cohen threw away for a reason). Not that I don't like the originals though.

Thought of another one: Gary Hoey's version of "Hocus Pocus," origonally done by Focus. Electric guitar beats yodeling any day.

Not saying its better, but the lyrics are easier to hear and they do a good job of the work:

Mer's "The Electro-Acoustic Tribute to Tool" album

Disturbed is also a pretty good cover band to me. "Fade to Black" and "Land of Confusion" are both excellently done, and "Shout 2000" is decent enough too.
Something kind of sad about the way that things have come to be.
