We have a local spring nearby where the water is 68 degrees year round. It's nice sometimes to just spend the day there in the chilly water. But unfortunately I can't bring the whole hole home with me and dump it in my backyard.

Wow! The water is so blue it looks like the tropics. It doesn't fit with the background.

I saw 114 heat index today for my area. Prediction for tomorrow is a 113 heat index with an actual high of 96. I had a drink in my car explode from the heat today...also, people are fighting over the shady spots at work. I have to wear gloves to operate my vehicle because the steering wheel is so hot. My car's AC laughs at me when I turn it on. Inside work, it's so hot that I've thrown up a few times.

The pool is like 99 degrees so no cool off there.

I am almost missing those freezing Florida days...*sigh* It has been a miserable couple of days.

High of low 90s with heat index flirting with 100.

The meterologists have put us in the "extremely uncomfortable" dark green shade of muggy in the comfort index area. No relief until Thursday, then supposedly it will be more comfortable until Saturday, when the humidity will once again be back with avengeance, and spark up some more storms and disturbances Saturday and Sunday. Yay, a wet and wet hot weekend. Ever since the end of June, we haven't been able to go more than a couple of days without humidty returning.

And let me just flip back to last summer when all I did was bitch about how it was too chilly and never stormed and we got screwed out of a summer. Now it's hotter than hell and we've had plenty of storms with plenty of damage.

You folks should come down here then.

It's currently about 15C outside and it is raining.

Yep, we're hard to please sometimes, we humans. I was outside breaking with a coworker last week and he was complaining about the heat. He doesn't smoke, mind, he just goes outside because he's "Tired of being inside" and we're friends, so I go out there and roast with him. I mentioned I was ready for winter and he was all "Hell no, I hate the cold." Picky bastard, lol.

Our AC hasn't been keeping the house cool - as a test I set it to 73, 2 hours later it was still 77 in the house (it should be around 72-75). It cools down at night luckily.

I cleaned the filter the other day and it didn't help so I called the AC company. They think it is because it is so hot out the air conditioners (probably especially cheap ones like ours) are working too much to keep up with the hot temperatures. They're still coming out just to check it.

I wish our association bylaws didn't forbid us from having window units - I'd love to have one in our bedroom (it's in the back to so it won't look trashy!).

I bitch about the weather no matter what.

If there were no humidity and it were 70-75 and sunny every weekend, well then I'd never complain.

This morning I just said "Aw, screw it", threw on some knee length gym pants and a bathing suit top and went out to wash my poor horse. Since he's had several weeks of 'sweat, roll in the dirt, sweat, roll in the dirt', he really needed it. He kept sticking his face into the spray of the hose and getting me soaked, and I didn't even care

Same here. It's just too damn hot. AC is running nonstop. Our power bills are going to be scary, I think.

Well, not sure how true it is (I work third shift so I get all my news second/third hand) but somebody said this week we are to get 110 degree weather Now, that is hot most places, but I honestly never even heard of it getting that hot here...ever.

Just checked weather channel, and yeah..if you count humidity it will get that high. Nowhere close otherwise. Got to learn that some people are a bit 'touched'
