  • I'm on a Horse! (image)

Khan has no fear and excellent balance. Best of all, I received an invitation to go back and trail ride with the horse's owner.

One of my favourite blogs, www.damomma.com, is authored by a woman who has three children. Her middle daughter, Ren, was riding at a posting trot (English seat) at two years old. It's absolutely possible, if rare.

I say go for it! Get him up there! If it's a small enough pony, and he can get comfortable quickly, then he could end up loving it and having a wonderfully healthy respect for animals. Most stables will require that the riders care for their own horses before and after the lesson, when they're large enough and old enough to do so.

Besides, at that age they're mostly rubber. They fall, and they giggle and bounce right back up. My sister started riding at 6 (before her allergy was discovered) and the two times she fell off, she had no injuries. Dirt rings are the best! ^.^

I was on my grandmas horse at six months old. I loved that horse.

I was on a horse by myself by the age of 3. All of us were, cause Dad has always had horses for as long as I can remember. It's really good for kids of all ages. It teaches hand/eye coordination, respect for animals, balance, and so so *so* much more.

At first I thought this was about Isaiah Mustafa (the Old Spice spokesman).... this is much better!

Me too...I was a bit disappointed. But this is equal cuteness in a different way.

Yeah, that was deliberate. "Look at your baby. Now look at ME. Look at your baby. Now look at ME. Look at your baby. Sadly, he's not me." At least Khan is facing the right way!
