  • Verizon?

Tuesday, my family was rid of the ever-so-prickly thorn in our sides that is AT&T. We're now with Verizon.

So far, I haven't had a single dropped call. And I have almost full bars in every room of my apartment and all over town!

Does anyone else have Verizon here? Do you have any issues with them at all? I realize every carrier has its own issues, but it will be nice to never be shut off again because AT&T "lost" a payment and refuses a faxed copy of my mom's bank account showing the payment taken from her checking account, and us having to pay to be turned back on anyway. It'll be nice to not have to call them practically every month to dispute false charges.

I have Verizon in Ohio (cell only) and haven't had any major issues. There's been the occasional surly CSR, but in general, nothing that has had me look at changing carriers.

Damn good coverage. Usually good at fixing my problems. Unlimited texts and calls to all Verizon members.

As long as you don't have to break your contract, Verizon is pretty good.

I have it as an Internet connection ........only "issue" I've had is that I had to have it linked to my mom's Verizon account because my credit isn't that great, and I would've been charged a security deposit.

I had Verizon for a few years. They were good, I never had an issue.

However, when my boobs practically melted my verizon phone and I needed a new one (I was practically due for a contract re-up), they didnt want to work to cut a deal for a phone. So, it wsa cheaper to disconnect my service early and then jump to AT&T.

I now have no issues on AT&T either.

OF course, about one month after this, they call and ask what they can do to keep me as a customer... . I had already established myself in AT&T and so asked Verizon why they were so unwilling to work with me in the first place. LAdy was very apologetic and told me she would get me a wicked deal. I stayed with AT&T. That was almost 2 years ago. Im happy.

Although I remember you writing about your AT&T situation before and thats just bizarre.

Oh, I hate them with the fire of 1,000 suns. The "losing" of the payment and the shut-off and having to pay to reconnect thing happened more than once. Every time, they refused to see proof that my mother had that she did pay, so we had to pay anyway. There were always these random charges on our bills....my phone didn't have internet (I kept my Razor every year because I couldn't afford a new phone, strictly talk and text) and there would be charges for downloads and whatnot....I couldn't download anything because my phone didn't even let me go online.

I'm sure every time they got a call from my mom, they were just dreading it, but the company did it to themsleves. They were never very helpful and were always adament that we didn't pay or that I did go online on my phone and download crap. I know my mother. She's never missed a bill in her entire life. And if my phone would not let me go online period, how did I download anything?!

Not to mention that their "awesome" coverage is a line of bullhockey around these parts. My phone was always dropping calls, especially to non-AT&T folk.

Just before Mr Jedi and I got married, he got slammed with a $300 "early termination fee" from Verizon. Three years after he cancelled the phone. And he stupidly paid it. So I will never go to Verizon. We have AT&T and we're satisfied with it. If we do ever switch carriers, we'll either go to Sprint or T-Mobile.

that's because they fired those of us with actual training and experience because they could hire twice as many new people at a fraction of what they were paying us-no I'm not bitter at spending two years working for them to be given 30 days notice-and spending 20 of those 30 days fixing the mistakes the cheaper workers caused.....(one customer got a 40 thousand dollar phone bill due to one of the "newbs" screwups.......)
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes

My parents have Verizon, its the only service that'll actually cover where we live. I recently got my own phone plan and such, I got my new fancy DroidX phone, with internet and everything, and havne't had any troubles so far....

Though it hasn't been a month for me. But my parents haven't had any issues, save with my sisters talking and texting way too much. (I have to ask, how fair is it that I had to get my own cellphone and plan, and my parents are paying for my sisters? One of which has her own house, and buisness. )

I have Verizon. My phone is actually a second line on my dad's account (I pay him for it). The only problem I have with coverage is in my parents' house, and that's just because they live in some sort of cell phone black hole (my brother doesn't have Verizon but his phone doesn't work there either). Works fine in the driveway, though . I don't have a problem when I'm at home or elsewhere.

In all likelihood the one and only thing keeping AT&T's celluar division from going under is the iPhone. This is also why there are constant rumors floating around that Apple is about to release a Verizon iPhone, because lots of people want one but don't want to sign up with AT&T for reasons such as these.

I will never use Verizon wireless. I had a pre-paid phone for them, had used it for years. One Saturday, I tried to reup my minutes. There was a problem with their system, and it wouldn't go through. The next day was Sunday, and the retail store was closed. I went in that Monday after work. After waiting in line about 30 minutes, then telling the clerk what had happened, and how many minutes I had lost because it didn't re-up in time, the only response I got was "So?"

It wasn't a fortune, but for me at the time, the lost airtime was more than I could afford to lose.

I've since set up a phone on my Mom's family plan w/ AT&T. All of my friends, but one, and all my family are on AT&T, so calling cell-to-cell is free.

I Verizon. Just waiting for the phone I want to go on sale.

I had T-Mobile before this. For a while they were ok, but then...
