Unseen but seeing oh dear, now they're masquerading as sane-KiaKat There isn't enough interpretive dance in the workplace these days-Irv 3rd shift needs love, too
RIP, mo bhrionglóid
good for you....I hope it goes well. And that you are able to walk better once healed. Is this going to interrupt school for you or will they let you study at home?
SO HAPPY theyre not giving you the run around anymore. Its going to be tough at first. Listen to your caregivers, dont be afraid to take the pain medications, and work your little ass off with physical therapy. Youll be up and going at it in no time.
and work your little ass off with physical therapy
This times a thousand.
I slacked in mine for a while after fracturing my ankle, and no longer have full range of motion in it, due in part to my own stupidity. Don't do that.
that is fantastic news, and I'm SO happy for you!! Good luck with the surgery, and as soon as you're conscious again, text me to let me know how things went?
Keeping you in my thoughts and sending lots of positive, good energy your way!
Plaidman, from somebody who has recently had BOTH hips replaced:
If you smoke, quit! (I don't think you do, though) Smoking causes problems with healing.
USE YOUR WALKER! Don't try to use a cane before the doc says you can.
Try to keep to a healthy diet. Give your body some resources to work with. Some comfort food is fine, but lots of protein and calcium! And zinc and Vitamin C and Magnesium.
Don't slack on physical therapy, but also don't try to do too much, either.
Take you pain meds before you start to really hurt. It'll take less to keep the pain under control that way.
FOLLOW DOCTORS' ORDERS!
Good luck! Mine are SOOOO much better than before the surgeries!
Everything will be ok in the end. If it's not ok, it's not the end.
Yeah, I don't smoke. Though I am very lacking in calcium. I take pills for it, along with magnesium citrate. Pain meds is my hardest to deal with, as I wait until I'm in overwhelming pain before I take any, so I'll have to work on that.
Little worried about the PE. I never had much energy, but I know I'll have to force myself to do it. On the bright side, I may finally, after a bit, get to jog a little. This hip deal been going on for a very long time, but I always ignored it until it got so unbearable. (Way to many years of dealing with doctors who don't do anything for me, and I give up. But this, I just could NOT deal with it).
Thank you all. I'll definitelly keep you updated. (Likely through a proxy, like Lupo, LexiaFira, Food_Lady, NotSonInnoncent, Green_Fairy, or any of the other various posters I have on my cell).
Not sure if I'll be able to immedity go to my computer, but I'll figure something out.
Thanks all. I'm really excited. This is going to be such a great change in my life.
