Speaking of tea - would you guys have any recommendations?

I do have a whole foods nearby and I'm looking to try to wean myself off of coffee a bit.

I like berry/fruity flavors and I'm currently banning sugar from my diet.

Any recs you tea people might have would be appreciated.

I always get the good shit. Got a box o' 96 the other day. Haven't needed it yet. For some reason Target is always out of stock so I had to go to CVS.

It's a good job I'm not near any of those places or there would be blood. The last thing you ever want to do iin life is mess around with an englishman and his tea.

That's just messed up. I wonder if they would try to push a blended tea (or whatever they had you buy? Two teas to blend or what was it?) on someone that just wanted, say, white tea. Or maybe something simple. That's also freaking expensive tea, I can barely afford those cheapy kinds that are like "six flavor variety pack that contains 5 1/2 flavors you cannot drink! Hooray!"
I had problems with a tea store (I have no clue which store this was, it was a few years back and I was wandering a random mall with my cousin) where they kept trying to have me sample or buy tea that I was allergic to. Person would be all like "Here is our happy blossom tea/CINNAMON spice tea/antioxidant blended tea/whatever"
"Citrus or cinnamon? I'm allergic to all forms of citrus and all forms of cinnamon."
                    "Neither"
"I can smell orange AND cinnamon in that death-potion you hold. NO"
I have no clue how many times I said I was allergic, still the person said that I should sample the tea because "it's organic and healthy, it would make you feel better/calm you down/energize you/make you turn into a dragon."
I would have tried it if they actually said I'd turn into a dragon, but whatever.
I bet they had a quota of weight or something they had to sell.

                      First of all, LMAO!!

And second, it was a blended tea (all of them were) of one expensive tea and then a "mix in" that was also a tea. They really pushed the expensive one and downplayed the other, but wanted to sell them both together, in the $7 tin that held a POUND.

I almost wish I had refound that link before going today. I regret buying anything. But it was the first day they were open. Maybe itll cool down a bit.

Maybe if I had enough of the teas I was allergic to, I would gain magic powers? I think that is honestly what the store person thought, or because it was organic, I wouldn't be allergic to it then?

I need to get some tea, the Koffee Kuppe in town has some teas in jars, maybe I'll get some...if they promise I'll turn into a dragon!

all stores that weigh product do this.
Whiskey, you're shopping at all the wrong stores then. I've never had trouble at my tea store (Although I buy a lot of pre-bagged there, because it was only recently that they started selling good cannisters). Nor do I have that at the local fancy grocery store, which is the only place in town that stocks more than 200 types of cheese. (I suspect it's the only place in town that stocks more than 100 types of cheese actually).

link me to a good place to buy teas because i love tea and tea.
http://www.distinctlytea.com/ my local tea store. Website is crap though, designers these days worry more about if they know the language and less about usability.

I recommend Celestial Seasonings to you then. They have a herbal tea sampler with 5 kinds of fruit teas http://www.celestialseasonings.com/p...ml/herbal-teas. Very sweet, very fruity. And no non-nutritive sweeteners in them (some teas have stevia), nor do they use colour (except for paprika). They also don't individually wrap their tea bags - they have waxed paper liners that are resealable, the bags are loose in there. It keeps the tea better than the plain paper wrappers do. Most grocery stores should carry their stuff.

Oh, and as to the OP: $7 for two ounces by weight isn't really expensive for white tea. At least not at a specialty tea store. I'd expect to pay way more than that here at Teaopia (yuppie tea store, does what is almost a really good job). Although I guess prices are lower in the states than the exchange would suggest.

When I go to my local deli type place and pay $2 an oz for REALLY GOOD (not name brand) tea, $12 for 2 ounces is a bit much. Especially considering it was almost impossible to get the $12 price and they kept trying to give me more. The $7 tea came out to $8.20 b/c the worker couldnt "shake" appropriately.

For that price here (with exchange) you can get black tea. You can get good, loose leaf black tea (not even necessarily national brand), or you can get good, loose leaf green tea, but national brand. Nothing really high-end, and definitely not white tea, unless you want Tetley's, and that's in a bag yet.
